The clockwork metropolis.

Lethis - Path of Progress, the steampunk city-builder with the Victorian backdrop, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 50% launch discount.

It may not be such a powerful word today, but there was a time when all people were talking about was the energy revolution of steam. It's easy to see why, as it was pretty much what brought the wonders of mass production to everyday life. Lethis is a Victorian world drenched in that mix of romantic steampunk aesthetics and aggressive resource consumption that calls for firm management and an eye for innovation.

The introduction of steam applications opens up a wonderful, cartoony world of opportunities. But before you can block out the sun with your fleet of zeppelins or give your people that huge observatory, you must first tend to your production lines, make sure to keep your workers happy, and establish profitable trade routes for the glory of the Empire. Mass production brings mass management problems and mass expectations from the masses. But bold science and smart coordination will help your lovely cities reach their full industrial potential and maybe raise a majestic monument or two.

Discover the excitement and far-reaching decisions that come with industrial revolution in Lethis - Path of Progress, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 50% discount will last until March 5, 1:59 AM GMT.
Looks nice. Pharoah meets Victorian Steampunk? Very interesting indeed.

Wishlisted for now, will pick it up when I have more time and money as it seems right up my alley :)

Apparently, it is not so niche anymore, god knows why...

it seems some nvidia gpu had trouble with it, plus it seems the game wont receive any attention anymore from the devs now they started a new project.
So have the nVidia issues been solved? Or is there a list of compatible GPU's?

Well, at first I was willing to give GOG the benefit of the doubt, based on the above issues... but I guess there is no benefit of the doubt. More of this customary moronic practice of, "let's wait and see how everyone else does then dance wildly out of step!"

Not much reason to be excited about releases here anymore when almost half of them are boneheaded cases like this.

Since gaming is "too niche," why bother selling anything besides League of Legends or the new version of Assassin's Creed?

What a breath of fresh air! What I wouldn't give for these games to make a comeback. I'm not much of a steampunk fan though so I'll wait for a sale for now.

Imagine how cool one of these games would be with more realistic early industrial age graphics, like the depiction of London in the 2009 Sherlock Holmes film. It wouldn't make sense to similarly create a city from scratch in such a setting, but perhaps a variation of the theme could work where you instead begin with a large city with lots of slums, poverty etc. and which you then have to lead through the industrial revolution.

TheTome56: Probably lost in copyright limbo, like Caesar IV and Freelancer
Freelancer was and is still clearly a MS product. And Caesar IV was Sierra/Vivendi and now probably belongs to Activision, like Caesar 3 and all the other games from the City Builder series.

I still wish there was some chance Microsoft could come to GOG. There are so many great MS games we need, like Freelancer, Age of Empires, and Outwars!

Only if GOG.com would agree to make those old games compatible exclusively for Windows 10 :)

Please tell me you are being sarcastic. :P
The graphics isn't exactly my preferred style, but the game is still interesting.

It has no Linux version, so does the Windows version run under Wine (unfortunately there's no appdb entry)?
The game ran out of steam?

Looks nice enough but does not tempt me, guess I have enough games with building to last me a lifetime.
