They're killing the peasants at Eisenwald!

Legends of Eisenwald, a mix of cRPG and classic adventure, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. Look for the game at 33% off during the Big Fall Promo!

Forget dragons, swords, and sorcery - the Reformation in medieval Germany is where it's at. Legends of Eisenwald is a gritty, down-to-earth fantasy story that mixes the combat and loot elements of hex-based cRPGs with the classic "solving puzzles to overcome challenges" gameplay of adventure games - think King's Bounty meets King's Quest and take out a chunk of the high fantasy tropes you love or hate so much.

Medieval Germany in religious conflict is a grim, unwelcoming place, but it sure makes for a good adventure. It's only fair that as a noble, you fit right in like a piece of the cruel, cruel puzzle. Sometimes, you just have to work a few men to death to turn your luck around.

You can pick up the Knight's Pack DLC for the Legends of Eisenwald OST in both MP3 and FLAC formats, as well as a Digital Artbook. During the first six days after launch, you'll also get the newest Road to Iron Forest DLC completely FREE with your game purchase.

The world is going to hand you nothing on a silver platter, you just have to take it - Legends of Eisenwald is now DRM-free on GOG.com.

Huge thanks to those who is buying our game and supporting us, it really means a lot.

And yes, some peasants will have to die in this game :) But it will be up to you how many!

Ixamyakxim: Let me know if you find out / when you start playing! I'm curious too - it does LOOK a bit like Expeditions but the description mentions Kings Bounty. For some reason, I'm not as big a fan of the KB / HoMM style combat on a hexgrid (feels a bit generic) vs something like Expeditions that feels like a proper tactical battle with real, individual units.
Many people compare us to E: C but I am not sure we are too close, these are two different games that have a few things in common.

As for combat, it's a unique combat system, sort of a cross between Disciples 2 and HoMM. It looks simple at the surface yet has a lot inside. Take a look at the combat video I made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibG4iMSaTOo

jamyskis: Yeah, thanks for that GOG. I'm going to be singing that all fucking day now.

JMich: For cruelty reasons
Thank you, I never watched that video XD

Ah nice, thank you I will.

Also, it's always nice to see a dev here supporting their new game! Thanks for that!

mrkgnao: Why are there two copies of Legends of Eisenwald in the catalogue, each with its own ID?
http://www.gog.com/game/legends_of_eisenwald_special
http://www.gog.com/game/legends_of_eisenwald
The one that's "special" is actually pretty special. How special? It includes the "Road to Iron Forest" DLC in the package. When the launch promo is over, the "special" version will be gone from the store and the standard version will take its place alongside a separate, purchasable product for the Road to Iron Forest DLC.

Yes. It really is that special. :)

Welcome! Really glad to see your game here and you guys here talk about it. I've been interested in it for a while and will most certainly pick it up here on GOG when I get the chance!

Ixamyakxim: Isn't it obvious... one's... special...
Except that they both have the exact content?

Perhaps some of that DLC content will be added to the Special Edition after the first week? Or it's simply an oversight on GOG's end?

Actually they don't. See for example the "Size" field on the game page.

I believe the currently buyable one is for the special deal (buy until November 11 and get DLC for free). I expect it will disappear on November 11 and the upcoming one will open.

Hi Alex

Game looks really good although stuck at work right now but will be playing when i get home.

Hope it sells well for you.

Aningan: Oh yes! I like this too. I like it even more when I "recognize" some of the historical characters.
I overlooked your comment. Eisenwald is a fictitious duchy in Germany of early 15 century in the times of Holy Roman Empire. There are some references to real places.

Also, while it's low fantasy some fantasy elements and creatures are there.

There's no "Size" field on the Special one...

And I was completely wrong, just read Konrad's post.

Interesting concept.

What will happen to the ratings and reviews that people associate with the "special" version when it disappears on November 11?
And for anyone interested, visit the Aterdux Entertainment site, interesting info on the game to be found.
Anyone else is having problems with the downloads (via browser)?

Edit: GOG downloader link works, but the normal browser link gives me a 404 (for the main installer and for the DLC).

e.g. me too... but download via Galaxy works...

I think problem is with that special vs normal version because it's marked "soon" in my library, same as on "normal" game page ( http://www.gog.com/game/legends_of_eisenwald ), but I'm able to buy "special" version normally
