They're killing the peasants at Eisenwald!

Legends of Eisenwald, a mix of cRPG and classic adventure, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. Look for the game at 33% off during the Big Fall Promo!

Forget dragons, swords, and sorcery - the Reformation in medieval Germany is where it's at. Legends of Eisenwald is a gritty, down-to-earth fantasy story that mixes the combat and loot elements of hex-based cRPGs with the classic "solving puzzles to overcome challenges" gameplay of adventure games - think King's Bounty meets King's Quest and take out a chunk of the high fantasy tropes you love or hate so much.

Medieval Germany in religious conflict is a grim, unwelcoming place, but it sure makes for a good adventure. It's only fair that as a noble, you fit right in like a piece of the cruel, cruel puzzle. Sometimes, you just have to work a few men to death to turn your luck around.

You can pick up the Knight's Pack DLC for the Legends of Eisenwald OST in both MP3 and FLAC formats, as well as a Digital Artbook. During the first six days after launch, you'll also get the newest Road to Iron Forest DLC completely FREE with your game purchase.

The world is going to hand you nothing on a silver platter, you just have to take it - Legends of Eisenwald is now DRM-free on GOG.com.

nightcraw1er.488: Yes, its the last few characters "but hardly cause for concern". Just shows the attitude, it works with galaxy stop complaining. Well, I don't use it, never will. Hence the product doesn't work for me. Will see on Monday.

Trilarion: I'm sure they will fix it soon. After all it would only produce bad PR for them if they don't. On the other hand if I would have bought Eisenwald now I would surely not ask for a refund because processing the refund and buying elsewhere would probably be too much hazzle for such a small incident. I would be much too lazy for that. Do you really want a refund because you cannot download it right now or do you just want to rant a bit?
Well, I am very sorry for showing a bit of annoyance at this mess up, and for not thinking to just install clientware on machine to fix this for them. The refund would not be to purchase it somewhere else it would be to say that a) presenting a non working product is unacceptable, and that forcing people to use galaxy is also unacceptable. I still believe in some sort of consumer rights.

It's not so much of a hassle for me. I just dropped an email to the customer support and ask for a refund, the product cannot be downloaded. Once they fixed it and I get confirmation the links work, I can still decide to buy it again.

This is the worst release so far.

We are already custom to day1 patches and unfinished games, I actual 4wait at least a month before I really start playing. Buying a game on release is me showing support for the developer.

Oh this is fully understandable. You are completely within your rights to demand a refund since the product actually is not working. That much is for sure. After all it is unfair of GOG to take your money happily but deny you access to your game (via the usual way).

Demanding a refund, then buying it again will also surely punish them because it will invoke extra costs from their side. One could see it as adequate punishment for bad service quality.

But I would not do it because I would be too lazy for it. I would probably just not buy the first day after release next time.

I bet the person who fixes broken links gets that job done before the person processing refunds does.

Yes, its a good reason not to buy on day 1, in addition to not buying pre-order. Will just wait till sales from now on.
And, does it work now?

Trilarion: And, does it work now?
Nope, support suggested Galaxy, GOGDownloader, store credit or refund.

Apparently there are not many tickets about the problem and it means others can actual use the download links in the accounts page.

Too bad there is no linux support. Otherwise it would be an instant buy.

No, it still doesn't work, and I got the same information, we recommend using our "optional" client. Will wait to hear what the response is from my reply, but if that is the attitude, then I won't be buying anything else from here.

disi: Nope. ...
But what is so difficult about it? I don't understand why they can't just fix it.

Anyway. Waiting or refund. There is choice.

Well that's disappointing...

Looks like it's not that easy to fix - it's not an usual bug, e.g. typo somewhere in the links, but some unexpected bug in this new approach of "special version" (giving early buyers a free dlc as a bonus), which is locking game installers until "normal" version is released (aka free dlc promo ends)...

Sounds like a common-sense explanation to me. The voice of reason. +1.

A slightly hair-trigger response from some people here, but that's only to be expected given the fog of non-communication from GOG.com

Not to mention that it hurts sales, and we're talking about a very small dev studio here.

Oh I know - I think I mentioned yesterday or so that people should hold off punishing the Dev for what is I'm sure a temporary glitch on GoG's end that will be straightened out sooner rather than later.

Funny part - you and mrkgno (wow I think I butchered the spelling of that) noticed it days ago with the Magog updates pulling the two separate catalogue links. Who'd have thought it would cause 404 link implosions!
