ariaspi: Isn't this too niche to be here? :/
avatar
gamesfreak64: if you mean this:

"denoting or relating to products, services, or interests that appeal to a small, specialized section of the population."

( had to google for it) ...

then no it is not niche...

niche might be dozens of (more of the (exact) same games that are developed by the dozens like KingsQuest clones, commando's , fallout clones, and more ( which i personally don't mind , i love (much) more of the same.
Oh, I was being sarcastic. :P

Being niche is sometimes one of the reasons GOG rejects/rejected games.

Vythonaut: From what i saw, it looks more like a Telltale game rather than a FMV adventure in the veins of Phantasmagoria. There doesn't seem to be any puzzles or gameplay
Yeah, it's mostly dialogue choices.
And not too many.
But the result is still ok.
For a cheap price, though.
$9.09 is a very odd number.

Dogmaus: Might be even better than Tender Loving Care. I hope it's released for CD-i as well!
avatar
gamesfreak64: It might be shorter , i saw the game at steam a while ago and i watched the walkthrough on youtube
cause i wanted to see all of the game and how it plays.

The best ending video is 1 h 9 minutes: 01 Late Shift Full Walkthrough BEST ENDING

TenderLovingCare is much longer

In TLC (good production, interesting story, good cast) the problem was: you were supposed to get a psychological test by answering the questions, and in the end you can't even see the results (in GOG version at least). I was really disappointed. Maybe this, even being shorter, has more replayability and it's more rewarding? Cause TLC essentially goes on by itself. Not really a game as a way to tell a story.
Is a "CYOA" in which you just choose what the character does and no ability is requested a game or "a way to tell a story"? Let's say it's causal gaming.
So I might be more interested in an Android version, as it seems more fun swiping on the tablet to take choices and it suits the casual gaming approach more. No CD-i version announced yet, incredible.

Oh so this is enough of a game to sell, but Dragon's Lair and Space Ace aren't?

Or Time Gal! Or Cobra Command! Or Sewer Shark! Or Road Avenger!

That game was impossible!

None of those got PC releases (though it's about time they did), but Don Bluth's games did and GOG rejected them. I'm still salty.

This caught me a bit off guard. Didn't think this would come to GOG so soon.

i knew you was, thats why i answered and i love to play niche games , not every niche game but every niche game i i like to play.

Lets assume there would be a fallout 3 : a classic followup on fallout 2: same old engine same style but a followup on the story from fallout 2, i would buy it right away, same goes for classic commandos 1+2 , only classics no 3d/fp remakes or bad clones, i saw a game heavily inspireded by fallout classic but the engine is modern, graphics are too shiny , they look like plastic and metallic rendered dolls instead of the good ol pixelart they used to use in the good old gaming day's.

Anyway, these golden days have passed ( sad) and won't return, so in my case games will only become worse which is a sad thing, the only positive might be saving lots of money once there is nothing left to buy cause all developers will be making modern games :D

Are you referring to ATOM RPG? I like the graphics in this one. I believe you already know UnderRail, which I didn't play yet, but bought it this winter sale.
“Now as Matt, a math student ...”
You've killed me right there. After reading this I couldn't stop laughing. I've known several math students and this description just stuck with me throughout the trailer. xD The trailer itself failed to pique my interest anyway.
