UPDATE: Want to keep listening to the eerie soundtrack of Kona even after the cold winds have died down? Then go ahead and grab it - it's now available for purchase separately.

Kona, a survival/exploration adventure of supernatural thrills and natural chills, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com!

Private detective Carl Faubert was just looking to make an easy (Canadian) buck. But soon after he arrives in Northern Quebec to investigate the alleged wrongdoings of the local community against the cruel industrialist who desecrated their land, things take a sinister turn. And then another one. And another.

NOTE: Kona is the first of four games that will be taking place in the same setting.

I have a question here, Why is this Canadian made product cost more for us Canadians but cheaper to Americans?

A lot of the time no mater the dollar difference is the same due to it being made here. Like books clothing and other such things. other gaming sites have this for a lot cheaper almost aiming at the american dollar to equal it but here you guys went full hog on the dollar difference... Man I hate this :(
Nice to have a complete game now.
I'll enjoy to restart it soon - have got too many fascinating games recently.
Thank you to the devs from a happy adventurer, and I'm curiously waiting for your next games in this series.
The most immature part of me giggled when I saw that title (if you don't speak portuguese just imagine that the title is "Kunt").
high rated
Thank you everyone for the good words everyone! :D

Each store has its own exchange rate, so we unfortunately have no control over this. We set the price at US $19,99 on every store.

I'm really excited about this game / excited to get my digits on it as soon as I can!

CharlesGrey: Nice to finally see a proper release for this. It was the first in-Dev title I bought here ( like a year ago? ), and I've been looking forward to the finished game ever since.

I never downloaded any of the unfinished versions, since I didn't want any spoilers for the final release. Since I waited for so long, would it be best to wait a few more weeks for any potential patches, or is the game already nicely polished up?

Either way, congrats to the dev team -- hopefully the game will be a big success!
I didn't run into any bugs during what I played of the last build.
Day one purchase.
Huh, indev, eh? Looks too "outdev' to me ;P

Glad to see this babe released, thank y'all!
HA! The Dev is from Canada!

I told you the screen shots looked like my back yard! :P
Looks like an interesting title.

Can someone describe the save system?

Yep, you need to be near a heat source (except the pickup truck) to save (with no wolves around).

I hope this screen shot does not look like your restaurant.

We don't have a restaurant but I have been in that exact building before. :P

Seriously, to the dev with all joking aside, stunning art work there. It's easy to make an insane asylum or prison looks dreary and creepy and mysterious, but to do with just a plain ordinary northern town is way impressive.

Even with that dead body there. XD

A Canadian dev making a game set in Canada and supporting Linux.

I bought this as an In-Dev title. They hit the trifecta - I couldn't not support them:

I haven't played it much - waiting for the final release. Now's the time to fire it up!!

For the record, they made Kona using Unity, which goes to show the engine can be used to make great games, provided the devs aren't lazy and know how to work with it.

Other games made using Unity include Layers of Fear, Firewatch, the Shadowrun Returns trilogy, Wasteland 2, Dreamfall Chapters, Pillars of Eternity, Tyranny, Torment: Tides of Numenera, and the list goes on. It's a good engine if you know what you're doing with it.

Also, pretty much every game made with Unity practically supports Linux from the get-go, so we should have less Linux users demanding a port. :P
