A space oddity.

Kerbal Space Program, the video-game space simulator, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux, with a 25% launch discount!

It's here! Since it first showed up on our gamedars, Kerbal Space Program has managed to go viral a few times over. Today it hits the big 1.0, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome the ultimate and amazing space-program simulator to GOG.com. Learn from the game, learn from the community, learn from your own dumb mistakes. It's a game in which you win when you lose, and win even more when you finally succeed. With fully-fledged, physics-based space flight, a vast solar system of moons and planets, unbelievable customisability, and nearly limitless mod support, Kerbal Space Program is the one, unique game that everyone should try at least once.

Once you actually manage to launch your ship into orbit, once you're past your first moon landing, and once you step foot on your first alien planet - check out kerbalstuff.com, where over 500 mods await to turn your game up, or inside out, with more tweaks and additions than you can imagine.

Float in a most peculiar way in Kerbal Space Program, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com! The 25% discount will last until Sunday, May 3, at 4:59 PM GMT.
I wanted to purchase Desktop Dungeons + its DLC , Triple Town and Reus today but Kerbal Space Program is tempting .
Excellent release, heard many good things about this game! Thank you!

IAmSinistar: The price and system reqs unfortunately make this one to hold off on. Also, would like to see some reviews first. I'm rather leery of gamer hype.
I'm the first one to cry "HYPE" but, if anything KSP is under-hyped. I was almost floored when I saw how many people have never heard of this gem when it's release was initially announced here.

While it is only a fraction of the content available in the 1.0 release, check out the demo and see for yourself. It was enough to convert me from a skeptic to an instabuyer.

Gosh darn it, not another fucking regipriced shit!

Fucking plague!!! :(
Bought and paid for. Installing now. :)
Its not that I mind the whole regional pricing thing (It isn't going away, live and let live) but this is just over my 20 dollar policy, sorry.

Thanks for pointing it out. I may give that a whirl.

Tallima: ... to get to the Mun and back just once.

hummer010: Have you managed to get to the Mun and back? I have a hard time with the "back" part.

I've shot several Kerbals past the Mun, and the poor bugger's are still going. I've created several Kerbal Craters on the Mun, and I've got one poor Kerbal destined to spend the rest of his life, however short, orbiting the Mun.
That sounds familiar. I had quite a few kerbal-shaped smears on the Mun before I managed to put a complete, non-burning, alive foot on it ^^

Did you set your "speed" meter to "surface" (and not "orbit") by clicking on it when you did your final approach? It shows you your speed the surface you're trying to land on, rather than regarding the whole Mun. That way, you just have to make a regular, retrograde burn (very easy with a good drone core or a lvl 1 pilot. Just lock the SAS on "retrograde", and adjust the speed) to kill your horizontal speed and make a smooth vertical descent.

Since I learned this speed-meter trick (and with the new pilot skills), mun landings have been a breeze (meaning I crash only half my landers, rather than 90% of them ;) )

Ditto. More devs need to rediscover the power of the demo.
To all new players who feel lost in this "game" (so much more than a game!), google "Scott Manley": happy watching! :)

zeffyr: No goodies? GOG = goodies!
In this case, I don't think goodies EXIST at all, except free stuff you can find on the dev's website. Even the manual doesn't exist ^^

You know, developer can CREATE some. Not even wallpaper? Concept arts? Avatars?
GREAT RELEASE GOG!!!

I've been waiting for this for a long time and i'm very happy that it is released on GOG, but as much as i would love to support the developers & GOG, i can't afford to buy it right now - it's just out of my budget, even with the very nice launch discount. Thankfully, i have many other good old games to keep me occupied until i finally manage to buy it, at some point later this year!

Have fun!! :D

I don't think they did any. If I remember correctly, they are not really game designers, and KSP started out as a personal project from one of the employees. So the "goodies frenzy" is maybe not something they're used to.

A Kerbal avatar would be nice, though ^^

Kerbal!

I've been waiting for this.

Of course between The Witcher 3 and the expansion, Pillars of Eternity, and the Ys games that I haven't started moving over to GOG yet...

Well, I just hope this isn't one they pull, I want it but it's going to be a few months before I can buy it.
