justanoldgamer: If I understand correctly, Kerbal is the game's Earth. What are the people called?
The people are Kerbals, their home planet is called Kerbin.

Thank you, it seems important somehow.
Now I'm wondering if I should get the demo until I can buy the real thing.

RadonGOG: Nice to see it on here, at least for me it´s quite a surprise! Wishlisted for now, as I´m no big fan of that sandbox-genre!
There is pretty a involved career mode which has some management aspects to it as well. It's been a few updates since the game was purely sandbox.

Crash Test Dummies
Actually I have no idea, I spend too much time blowing them up to worry. It is probably Kerbals though.

This is a good game, but the price is a little high for me right now as I already have it via Steam.

Definitely try the demo if you're on the fence about buying. The game is a lot of fun, I'm biased though as I love space stuff and sims. Spent a lot of time playing around with Orbiter before KSP came along.
Another great game added to the library, and probably the first time I buy again a title I already own on Steam, but it's definitely one of my top 5. Really a unique title. :)

Oh, an advice to the new players : You might want to start with the Science Mode (well, after the tutorials, obviously). Sandbox and Carrier modes can be pretty confusing at first, but science mode allows you to start slowly, and get more parts and possibilities over time, so it's pretty newbie friendly.

Another thing that may not be explained in the tutorials : right click is your friend. Right click on astronauts to have them do repairs or samples, right click on parts to activate their menu, right click on scientific instruments to get science, right click on buildings to upgrade them (in carrier mode)... You get the idea.

Anyone in doubt, google the "KSP Build Fly Dream" fan trailer. Music aside, this all comes from live gameplay. If the vid gives you the chills, then buy the game without hesitation.

I recommend science mode for anyone new to the game. You get introduced to new concepts a little at a time, there is no penalty for dead astronauts and blown up rockets, it's just learn at your own pace and have a good time.

You don't even need to read a bunch of tutorials really, just go to the hangar and start building something. Go to launch, and figure out how NOT to do things :) Back to hangar and you'll figure it out.

A unique game. Probably not for everyone but if you think you might like it, you'll probably love it.
I am a rocket scientist and I endorse this game.

I am serious.

Really. Go get it, its orbit mechanics and rocket staging are pretty realistic (and still fun due to the tools available to use it without having a PhD). Can't comment on the (re)entry heat physics since they are new and I didn't look at them yet.
A Kerbal Space Odyssey
Excellent news. This is an absolute masterpiece and I am very glad to see it make an appearance on GOG.
