I got the old version for Android in the HUMBLE MOBILE BUNDLE: GREAT ADVENTURES 5 years ago...it's been a while. I didn't like the main character and the last portion of the game, the ending was a "this is it? meh" moment. It's a good that the writing has been revisited but I'm done with Kathy, I might try Whispers one day.

It's working now, though the store search still doesn't show it. It shows the basic game and OST with 50% off, but not the Deluxe Edition. The game page does show the 50% off.

For me, Kathy Rain was one of the best adventures I've played in the last years. Such a strong, unique atmosphere, Gabriel Knight vibes inclusive. I very much enjoyed the puzzle design and the development of the story. There are so many mediocre adventures out there - Kathy Rain definitively isn't one of them, at least for me. Sure thing I purchase the DC immediately.

Indeed the game is notable in graphics, story, puzzles and overall adventure quality. I always considered it a bit short. The new content could make things even better in that egard but I think the additions are not massive. Anyway the adventure is very good.

50% off is not much of a discount considering the minimal changes to this version (with some being for the worse). This is a big mistake IMO as it removes player agency. Sometimes deciding what you do to a particular object is part of the puzzle. Automatically opening a door when you click on it - fine. But automatically making the character do the correct thing for every single object is putting the game on autopilot.

I'd like to see the extra bits, but £6 is a hefty upgrade fee especially now "easy mode" is the only option.

I'm interested in a sequel to this, just wanted to say.

I just compared the start of the original with the DC and noticed that because of the missing "look" function some monologues are now missing. In example if you looked at the grandmother at the start you would get her full name ... does not seem to be possible anymore since now clicking on her wii start the dialogue immediately. Given how great the voice acting n this game imo is I think it is a pitty to lose any line at all. Would be great if those missing bits could be reinserted at a later time.

I do have to agree though that 16:9 is much nicer to look at.

Have you tried contacted the devs, that is an important flaw, I haven't test it yet, but maybe they can re introduce the old menu as an option.
