smrtgi19: but theres no drm on this free game, if it was free on steam or epic games launcher it would be shady suspect
avatar
MarkoH01: No DRM does not mean it is freeware. Given away for free does not mean it's freeware. It is freeware if you are allowed to download it from wherever you want. There's no announcement of this becoming freeware so far. There's nothing more I can tell you.
Next you're going to tell me that the neighbors' leaving their door unlocked doesn't mean their TV is free.

Normally it would mean you can take all their stuff not just the TV ....
were there dinosaurs still roaming the earth when this game was released ? not hating, just wondering... :O

Take? I usually just smash that stuff.
Oh wow the nostalgia! My dad had it on his home/work computer in the early 90's. The computer only had DOS and you got to this by typing "Jill" as a command. When my brother messaged me "Hey, do you remember Jill of the Jungle?" my reaction was basically "O_O!". His computer didn't have speakers back then though so the music is new.

MartiusR: Nice, big surprise that it's for free. Wondering if Xargon is also on its way to GOG.
Believe it or not, the author of Xargon and Kiloblaster, Allen Pilgrim, made both games freeware back in August 2008.

Among other places, you can find it on this site.

And feel free to search the rest of the site, as well. ^_^

idbeholdME: Might as well throw in UT2003 to complete the series on GOG. I have no idea why the world seems to act like that game doesn't exist.
As I understand it, all of the maps and other features of UT2003 are in the 2004 version so 2003's addition would be unnecessary..

I'm with you on UT3, though (particularly the Black Edition). ^_^
Thank you so much, GOG, for not only getting this on your library, but letting us play it for FREE! This game was my childhood and one I know had a small cult following to it. Just from a fan, I appreciate everything you do and everything you bring to us! :)
I loved this when I was a kid. I was hoping GOG would get it someday and it being free makes it even more awesome. I first played this back in 92. When dad went back to college we got our first PC and a copule of the friends he made ran a small software store. They gave us tons of shareware games and would often get me retail editions of them for my birthday or christmas.
*raises glass* Thankyou Epic Games and GOG!
Always appreciate it when an old favourite is given so freely for us to enjoy, bringing back so many memories. Cheers!

Densetsu: Thank you Epic Games and GOG for this nice freebie.

KingofGnG: Well, this is... unexpected. And welcome. I still have the original box of the Jill trilogy here on my shelves :-P

Should I attach a photo?
avatar
Densetsu: You have a big box release? What a curiosity. Please do.
Yeah, there where several releases for the three single games and the whole trilogy. Dunno if they were exclusive for the USA market though. I would take a photo of the box in the upcoming days.

Fantastic news! Used to play this game a lot back in my childhood. :)
Any chance of the Xargon trilogy next?

Xargon is already freeware. I wouldn't expect it coming here unless there's another Epic title that they want to push. These freebies cost a bit of money for them to process, but are also excellent for promos when they want to get people coming in.
Thanks for the game trilogy GOG! :)
