Watch out for that tree!

Jill of the Jungle: The Complete Trilogy is now available for FREE. To celebrate her arrival, the Jazz Jackrabbit Collections are 33% off and the Unreal series 80% off until November 5th, 11pm UTC.

Re-discover this cult platform series from Epic starring a spunky amazon lady who can morph into various animals in order to access unreachable areas and kick copious amounts of evil butt.

MarkoH01: It would be freeware if you were allowed to get it everywhere. For all we know for know it could also have been a deal between GOG and Epic.

smrtgi19: but theres no drm on this free game, if it was free on steam or epic games launcher it would be shady suspect
No DRM does not mean it is freeware. Given away for free does not mean it's freeware. It is freeware if you are allowed to download it from wherever you want. There's no announcement of this becoming freeware so far. There's nothing more I can tell you.
low rated
Okay so I suck at this. :P

When I was a kid I used to be good at these games

Not really. I did some work for a freeware site once. And even if the games were freeware, we always had to check the licenses that came with it, because many of them had limits. Some of them only allowed downloads from the developer's site, some of them prohibited distribution via magazines or sites with a commercial background.

So a game can be freeware even if you are not allowed to download it from whereever you want.

Well, that was new to me.

Basically freeware means they don't sell it for money. They may restrict distribution etc. though.

I'm sure many people use or have used the term freeware like it's free software, but it's not the same.

Yeah, this has been a thing about freeware since the 90s, there's always a license and often some sort of condition attached. I used to use a lot of freeware that was only free for personal use, for example.
Thank you, Epic and GOG, for the free game.
Like others already said, please bring UT3 and UT2003 here

Usually if they don't want to attach any requirements or license they would place it into the public domain. Those were far less common than games that were some sort of freeware.
Well, this is... unexpected. And welcome. I still have the original box of the Jill trilogy here on my shelves :-P

Should I attach a photo?
Free gamie is love, free gamie is life.

Thanks Epic and GOG! <3
Nice! Not only Jill of the JUngle is finally in GOG but is also free.
This game totally passed me by. Thanks for the free game GOG!
Is gog getting sloppy? News are shorter, screenshots are tinier (see screenshots to Jill of the Jungle compared to something like Cosmo's cosmic adventure)
Thank you Epic Games and GOG for this nice freebie.

You have a big box release? What a curiosity. Please do.
