darktjm: Combines the best of turn-based and real-time? What is best? What is worst? Their description sounds like real time without pause, but with undo. Undo is rarely a feature of turn-based combat. I'd like a better description of what the gameplay is like.
I'd also like to know if it works on wine, at all.
At the current price, the risk of not working at all and the combat being a mouse grind I can't stand means I'm not interested in even trying, regardless of how pretty the game looks.
First off it works great in Wine. I'm running it via my Arch Linux install and played the whole first sections of the game so far in it via my Galaxy Wine install.
As for how this game I haven't played that far into it yet to have an overall opinion for a review. However, it seems to have full voice acting, at least up until you get past the boat (all I will say to not spoil anything). As I've not gotten further I can not say it's all voice acted.
Anyway, how it plays, it's normal paced movement unless you press space or enter combat. Once you enter this mode it opens up a timeline that looks similar to Kdenlive, Resolve, Adobe, et cetera for video editing. You move in section on this timeline like blocks of video clips in a sort of turn based way. Though each turn you and the enemy moves. You mess up and you can rewind to a section where you did a move. There is a cut off of how far back you can go, but for the most part unless something changes further in the game, you can always rewind time to undo something like a failed block. I am sure there will be other changes as the game even gave me an achievement saying, "found the first shard" for the time reversing.
Hope that sort of answers your questions with a little extra in there. :)
