I can still hear you saying / you would never break the chain.

Inner Chains, a captivating horror FPS set in a sinister biomechanical world with deadly flora and fauna, is now available DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount.

On a planet where nature has formed twisted, symbiotic bonds with machines developed millennia ago, you must make your escape and challenge the oppressive Ruling Caste. Brutal force will not get you very far, unless you combine it with clever use of the environment and a keen eye for any secrets that can be used to your advantage.

The 10% discount lasts until May 25, 4 PM UTC.

Embrace the darkness of the trailer.

I wonder if there are other colours besides the ubiquitous brown and grey.
Is there at least a Reverse Y-axis option?
Please tell me yes. That's the only thing I absolutely require.
Or it is unplayable for me.

I know I'm an odd egg, but nearly every FPS ever made has this option.

Except for games made with FPS Creator.

From what I can see in the short time I was capable of playing it, the game has next to no useful options, you can change your quality, gamma and brightness but thats it pretty much it, theres an "advanced" options menu with basicly nothing in, its your language and gpu limiter.

No options to invert keys
No options to change keys
No options to change fov
No options to turn off motion blur
Also you cant toggle run you have to keep the key pressed down which really irked me on top of everything

I got nauseous about 5 minutes into the game. Ive played a ridiculously vast amount of games over the years and the last game that ever made me nauseous was half life 2.

Thanks for the heads-up. I was just about to buy it, as it looks awesome, but I will wait a bit for a patch.
Wishlisted for now.

Visually it looks interesting. That said, the gameplay shown in the videos looks utterly bland.
Another Unreal Engine game without Linux version. Come on developers, you can do better than that already.
Thanks Chriss316.
I'll buy it when they fix this stuff.
If they ever do. So many games these days get released, and then abandoned.

I mean, inverting the mouse is just a basic FPS option that every FPS game should offer. And yet some developers seem to take the attitude of "Well, I don't use it, so no one else should either." And it's just a simple toggle they could easily put in the options menu. Not putting it in smells of laziness.
An appropriate summary...or eulogy:

Is this any good? It looks like Painkiller to me. Or is Painkiller more fun?
The graphics really looks good, the ratings not so much and the system requirements and technical limitations finally kills it for me.

Wow, that sounds as it's not even worth the 2.5 stars rating.

Was really interested in this, obviously as others have said the graphics look great and the world looks really interesting. Shame to see it get low ratings and have such technical problems. Perhaps I will look into this again a bit later if they can fix things.
Graphics are great but the reviews are bad.I think this game is going to need several updates to make it purchasable.

I'd like to think so too. But then I see that they cannot even make the keys rebindable, nor the mouse sensitivity adjustable.

Sometimes I wonder how it is possible for people to have what it takes to create and release a game yet struggle with such basics...

Painkiller has gameplay and action. And some of the best weapons ever in first person shooters. Despite its many flaws, it's one of the better shooters out there. A ton of fun too.

This game seems more like a walking simulator with, uh, a handful of dummy bag enemies and three things that look like they might be trying to be "guns" of some sort. Maybe you can even shoot them, but rolling on the floor doing wet farts would be more fun.

I tried it and it was very boring.
Also, unskippable cutscenes and bad voice acting.
I don't care much about super-HD resolutions or K+M... but I would like an option to turn off motion blur and a FOV slider.

That being said... This looks interesting. And it's the type of game - modern 3D - that I want to see on GOG.

DRM-free on Day One counts for a lot in my book, and the price is nice, so I'm willing to take a chance on these devs. Bought. Here's hoping they impress in the coming weeks.
