The mass production effect

Industry Giant 2, an isometric industry manager simulator, is now available DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 15% launch discount.

A lot of videogames give players the chance to live out their fantasies. For most of us, owning a multibillion-dollar business will never escape that realm so this our best opportunity at becoming a true Industry Giant 2.

Despite appearances, a successful business is a far more complicated affair than simply crunching numbers in an effective manner. You need vision, adaptive thinking, the will to act. There are events out of your control, like economic crises and political events, that can change your business plan overnight. For that to happen, though you first need to come up with one. Do you want to focus on a single product or do you want to expand across different industries? Who will provide you with raw materials, which market should you push them to, and how will your goods physically reach that place? Start from the beginning of the previous century and live through historical events like the prohibition, as you make the harsh decisions that will keep your business going and growing into a self-sustained industry giant.

Choose from a wide variety of products and build your own Industry Giant 2, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 15% launch discount will last until April 14, 1:59 PM UTC.
Giant forum pop:)
Uh, bump.

Saw this game countless times discounted on GamersGate, but no idea about its quality or lack thereof.

Strategy - Simulation - Managerial..and no manual?
cool :D
Any chance to get the first game on GOG?
Comfy game, much like TTD.
Hmm, don't know that the Simdustrial Complex is quite as compelling an idea as civil planning. Maybe if it moved through time as well, showing the transition from agrarian to industrial to technological it might be more interesting.

Oh, and "Over 150 real products from the 20th century"? No thanks, product placement, if that's what it means.

It's not bad, fun for a while. Way to easy, though. Basically impossible to make a loss, next to no fixed costs and such. Lacks many features like loans, stock markets, marketing, brands....but it has nice graphics. Business sim fans can't be picky, so I still recommend it.
Excellent. This will become my third purchase of the game because Windows 8 (and 10) compatibility has been fixed.

It's a good managerial style of game. On some maps, you have to start your business from scratch, but on most you inherit a business in a usually bad shape and change production to something more demanding, optimize transport etc. Key is to focus on an industry branch, e.g. wood based products. You start with furniture and can later expand into paper products or sport equipment or wooden articles for home improvement stores.

E.g. development of the car industry is part of some missions.

No, there isn't product placement as far as I remember.

Thanks for the info, sounds more interesting than it first appeared. Maybe they should let you write the gamecard, you make a better case for the game. :)
Holy shit, this looks exactly the type of game I've been looking for.

I've heard good things about it.
GOG should release something frenetic today, just to disagree with this game's general ''calmness'' or something (doest that exist?)
