The mass production effect

Industry Giant 2, an isometric industry manager simulator, is now available DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 15% launch discount.

A lot of videogames give players the chance to live out their fantasies. For most of us, owning a multibillion-dollar business will never escape that realm so this our best opportunity at becoming a true Industry Giant 2.

Despite appearances, a successful business is a far more complicated affair than simply crunching numbers in an effective manner. You need vision, adaptive thinking, the will to act. There are events out of your control, like economic crises and political events, that can change your business plan overnight. For that to happen, though you first need to come up with one. Do you want to focus on a single product or do you want to expand across different industries? Who will provide you with raw materials, which market should you push them to, and how will your goods physically reach that place? Start from the beginning of the previous century and live through historical events like the prohibition, as you make the harsh decisions that will keep your business going and growing into a self-sustained industry giant.

Choose from a wide variety of products and build your own Industry Giant 2, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 15% launch discount will last until April 14, 1:59 PM UTC.

https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/industry_giant_2_gold_edition,
https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/industry_giants_2_gold

Please :)

Also, is the first not here because of legal issues or because it has bad reviews on IGN and Metacritic and presumably more?
We don't have the Gold Edition hence the reason those wishes are not completed. It's a remastered/polished up version of IG2.
If they are endless, why would anyone need 20 of them? :P

(Also, there's a minor typo just below that: "detailled" has one 'L' too many.)

triock: Hmm, have this on DVD & Steam, nice to see it on GOG.

edit: Is it Gold version or not? I think I have Gold on DVD.

edit1: Yes, it's Gold. :)
Hopefully, they'll update the title in their catalog, like they did with Railroad Tycoon 2 [Platinum] after its release here.
EDIT: So, it's not really the Gold Edition, the launcher screen just says it is?
EDITING EDIT: Never mind, triock's screenshot was apparently of his own disc version's setup program, not the GOG version. :/

I can't help myself but all I see in the release text title is... Mass Effect! As for the game, hm, I'm not really sure about it, I'll have to read some in-detail info about it, but all I can say right now is that it looks nice enough.

Just looked at your screenshot - Who makes such a typo on a launcher? :D

I got the retail version (cd) (cdkey required)

i have it very very very very very cheap...
when i saw the screenshot.... whoosshhh... there was that dejavu feeling again...
I knew i had the game so, i dived into my closets and digged ... after a few hours i found it at the bottom of old dvd and ancient games i once bought.
That the problem when you love games that much and been playing them for 40 years (30 years since the first home computers : c64 , amiga, cd32 and the last 20 years pc (since win95)

Games Giant (seems to be sold online at amazon)
thats the big 15 games pack including 15 games, sold by the dozen many years ago in the netherlands, in stores like Bart Smit, Toys r Us, Marskramer / Blokker , Wibra, and in the Free Record Shops aswell (these had to close and much lateron they seemed to have a small revive, Boekenvoordeel wanted to try some of these, i dont know if they are still doing it, been along time again.

Anyway, you could buy the mega pack or a single or more games, well the game was prices at 1 euro back then, and it even had another price cut: 0.49 euros cents , wow what an offer.

Bad thing was it needs a cd key, but this key is on the cd/dvd so thats okay.
Biggest problem is, this original wont run, it complaints about my nvidia.

original game specs:
98,ME,2000, XP
64 MB ram
P350 mhz
774 mb after full install

gog version
Minimum system requirements - Windows: XP / Vista / 7 / 8 / 10
Graphics: 128 MB Graphics Card
DirectX: Version 8.1
Storage: 2 GB available space

Is this a special gold or enhanced version ? 2GB is almost 3 times the orginal size after full install

JoWood thats correct.... like i mentioned before in various topics, i been playing computer games since i could read and count.
atari 2600 first one, lateron c64 (vic16 was before c64 but i started with a c64), AMIGA 500/2000, lateron a drive, the cd32 and since win95 i was converted to PC (thanks to the monks in ageof empires 1 (hajojo hajojo hajojo was the kinda sound they made while converting).

We don't have that launcher sooooo....
Looks pretty cool! So is it more like Transport Tycoon or SimCity? Does it have windowed mode?

Any idea if the expansion also gets the remaster treatment?

Yeah, his post was very misleadingly worded (and I have no idea why he included a screenshot of his physical copy's setup/launcher program)....

(He included the screenshot to show he had the Gold Edition on DVD.)

I probably should have noticed it wasn't GOG-style installer. I assumed maybe he had bought it, installed it, and that was just the thing that started up before the game.
