The penitent man shall Use Item On...

Indiana Jones® and the Last Crusade™, the classic point'n'click adventure starring Henry Jones Jr. and his disapproving dad, is now available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 25% launch discount.

He hates snakes. He hates Nazis. He hates being called "Junior" by his dad. But he loves a good adventure, even if it contains all of the above.
This time, hands-on archeologist Indiana Jones is on the trail of the Holy Grail, but so are Adolf Hitler's lackeys. Tracking down the resting place of the last Knights will send both Indy and his dad on a journey full of cunning puzzles, spooky crypts, double-crossing dames, and a constant need for their unique brand of problem solving: improvisation and fisticuffs. Based on the last movie of the franchise (yes, the LAST one), The Last Crusade contains many locations that never appeared on the big screen, plenty of old-school action, and tons of well-placed references that may or may not belong in a museum.

Punch Nazis with your fedora on, solve puzzles with your whip, and try to keep up with the Joneses as they investigate Indiana Jones® and the Last Crusade™, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 25% discount will last until December 28, 10:59 PM UTC.

timppu: I presume there is no sound card support, since the game is from 1989?
The game supports PC-Speaker, Adlib and Game Blaster and uses ScummVM which you can be used to switch between sound emulation.
It also comes with its original interpreter (e.g. for use in DOSBox or in a VM) which supports commandline switches (try /? :-) to select different sound options.
This game will certainly please, but even so, I'm still waiting for Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine

Day of the Tentacle Remastered included the Enhanced version of Maniac Mansion(1989).
Ah the memories. Getting stuck in the catacombs, and then watching a demo loop of the game in Software, ETC in the mall that showed a room we (me and my parents) had never found, getting through that and then being repeatedly punched in the face trying to sneak through the castle. I don't think we ever made it through there.

It's an adventure game until it randomly turns into a pretty poor mix between street fighter and a roguelike - except minus any health potions.

If I ever were to beat this game I think it will have the highest amount of time between first play and first completion of anything I've ever beat. It's on.

Oh, that's a nice surprise then! In 1989 sound card support in PC games was still emerging I believe, so apparently LucasArts was quite an early adopter. Ok, King's Quest IV (1988) also supported sound cards, must have been one of the very earliest ones.

It would be extra nice if Last Crusade supported also Roland MT-32, but I'll have to see about that. But hey, KQ4 did support MT-32 too!

Just like this very thread already included this answer. :P
Nice! I was getting a little worried that after that initial Lucasarts burst, those were all we'd be seeing... but this, along with Double Fine's Day of the Tentacle release, are starting to fill in the gaps a little. Still waiting for Infernal Machine, Full Throttle, Monkey Island 3, and a few others... heck, even Desktop Adventures would be nice, if only for nostalgia's sake.
I can't find acceptable the policy of having a game launched at 4,19 € here while it costs 1,49 € on Steam. I am not happy at all. One is happy to support until it feels like he's been fooled.

I sent this message to support, I don't know if you might agree or think I am whining for a few bucks, but it really isn't about the little money. I just feel conned.

"Hi, I hope it does not sound rude and I don't think it's your fault buy Disney's. But I think launching the Indy game here selling it for 4,19 € and at the same time selling it for 1,49 € on Steam is cheating and gives bad reputation to GOG. I know it's powerful corporate Disney, but you should face it because gamers feel less inclined to buy when things like this happen. Nothing justifies the extra price to me. Also their Lucas Arts adventure pack does not apply here on GOG.
I think you should ask that your customers receive fair equal treatment.
Have a good day and good holidays."

the cheap steam prices are easily explained:

1] 90% of steam games (maybe more) and i think all new games wont run without steam client running in the background.

2] Some steamgames will run on any windows (provided the windows version can support the game ofcourse)
once installed (you can archive the gamefolder (winzip.winrar or 7zip(free)

I buy mainly the ones that can run once installed without the client.

3] in short : DRM, client is obnoxious and will control the game, so the game is NOT owned but more 'rented' the only difference is that it does NOT have a recurring fee.

Maybe there are more things but for now these 3 will do: thats why the games can be so cheap, i rather have full control, and have the setup files on my disk and can burn them on backupdvd, you will never have any setup at Steam... the client will install and auto update when/if needed .
You cant play ALL steam games in offline mode.....

Thats why GoG is the best and better then the rest and if the prices are higher thats okay.
I have steam only because GoG doesnt have casual games thats why i have a steam and gamersgate for the little casual games (ofcourse i try to get DRM free games).

I know why GOG is the best and I would not buy it on Steam, still on Steam it is not called rental. If people there are happy with the DRM good for them. Disney can avoid selling here if they don't like it. No one is forcing them.
I don't get point 2, how can it make the game cheaper? This is a SCUMMVM game by the way, you can play it on your Android tablet or Nintendo DS if you want.

This is on Disney, not on GOG, I am not criticizing GOG.

It does not cost €1.49 on Steam; it currently costs €1.49. That’s a big difference. And the reason why that is is because Steam currently is in its Winter Sale period, and it so happens that this game is 75% off. Without the sale, it would cost me €5.99 compared to the €5.59 it would cost me on GOG—so, more expensive.

Different stores hold sales at different times is all.

Point 2:

Well i should have typed: Steam has 'gazillions' of USD and members, so thats why they can afford to offer extreme high discounts, but that isnt nice to write.

Gamersgate usually gives highest discounts aswell on the steam games they offer, the drm free games are not that often on sale, so this shows that steam has 'money to burn'.

correct, you see i think i bought it once at sale cause it wasnt at GoG yet, and i hoped it would run without client but it didn't, but the game is cheap because steam has its wintersale now , after the other big sites had there own weeks ago.
Maybe it was smart of steam to have it now , and not at the same time when others were having a wintersale.
seems steams sales lasts till jan 2nd 2017.

Yes, they both are on sale and the GOG one is a second class discount. I respect that you think it's ok. I make my choice to boycott anything Disney from now on.

That said, I'll try to just enjoy the game now!
