Impossible is nothing. If not fun!

Impossible Creatures, an outrageous RTS that lets you "mesh" around with animal DNA and build your own mutant army, DRM-free on GOG.com. Get it now with the 40% launch discount.

Noah put two of every animal in the Ark. This was cool at the time, but now along comes Rex Chance, a '30s war correspondent, curious to see what happens when you smush two animals into one. Why? Because DNA fusion is fun, and because he thinks there is great untapped potential in these strange pairings. Unfortunately, so does Upton Julius, the megalomaniac villain who stole the mysterious Sigma technology for himself, and is now threatening to conquer the world with his own army of mutant beasts.

Collect animal DNA, build your own unique units, and defeat Julius and his evil lieutenants in 15 different maps stretching across jungles, deserts and snow-ridden landscapes that make up the mysterious Isla Variatas. Create your own menacing winged scorpion, adorable kangaroo-shark, angry horned bear or any other Impossible Creature you desire - the possible combinations are only limited by your own imagination (or gross-out threshold). Then, go online and test your DNA-fusing skills against other wannabe-mad scientists in three different multiplayer modes.

Play God in this 3D hybrid of strategy and creativity, as your Impossible Creatures march forward, DRM-free on GOG.com. Get them now with a launch discount that will last until next Thursday, December 3rd, 1:59 PM GMT.

adaliabooks: I'm confused.. I thought Relic was owned by Sega?

Is this game just a separate entity owned by Nordic or is there a chance the rest of Relic's games are coming here?

(also noted it was originally published by Microsoft, but I doubt that means anything now)
Relic developed the game long before they were bought by Sega, so them being the developers doesn't increase the chances of Company of Heroes/Dawn of War/Homeworld coming here. The game most likely ended up in the hands of THQ (owners of Relic before they were bought by Sega), from which Nordic bought the majority of its franchises.

tokisto: I never played or heard about this one before, but it got my attention...
So Judas, do you know if runs fine on Wine? ;p Thanks
avatar
vv221: My old CD works flawlessly on WINE, I’m going to give a try to the GOG version soon ;)
Not if I beat you to it :P

JudasIscariot: Ah, that's too bad :( While it's not the most impressive game in terms of graphics, it certainly was quite good in the gameplay department :) Here's hoping you'll be able to get it working :)
avatar
KubisForce: Well, for its time it was quite ok graphically. Back then it failed because it was 3D and 2D still looked more beautiful.
Ah yes, now I recall that transition when 3D was still quite new and it had to compete against 2D offerings :)

JudasIscariot: Any word on whether we'll ever see Cold Zero: The Last Stand? :P

I remember playing that game and I always thought it never got the appreciation it deserved :)
avatar
KubisForce: Yes, you are right and I wanted to re-release that but it has some serious problems with modern graphic cards and systems.

avatar
Licurg: You work at Nordic ? If so - any chance for Harbinger to come to GOG ?
avatar
KubisForce: Yes, this is me: https://twitter.com/ElMegalomator
Harbinger is not so easy...
Why not ? Rights issue ?
Welp, that's another set of CDs I won't need! I've got copies of the patches and the insect invasion if those aren't included.

Huzzah to you, GOG.

Yeah, that's what I figured.
Shame...

tinyE: Wait wait wait....not so fast.

I just tried to combine a beaver with a duck, make it warm blooded and yet lay eggs.

The game told me that was too 'impossible' even for a computer game.
Have you tried combining a duck with a beaver instead? :P

ah thats more like it :D

i have some small games from Nordic, sometimes big games desigenrs seem to develop/or distribute some smaller games more like casual games aswell, unfortunately noone seems to like them, i do, and i have loads of casual games aswell (retali cd/dvd and digital)

i have these 3 on GG

Pusher
Itch!
Harbinger

would be nice to have these here aswell, if most if not all games we have elsewhere could also be here on GOG
that would make it easier to leave steam as it is (i dont have many big games there, mostly small casualgames bought at sales) the bigger one i have are fallout classic, jagged alliance (if i am not mistaken) commandos
and a few more
But i am mainy GoG so i have most games here, the other sites was only because i read about them in this forum , so i checked it out and got me some games there, otherwise i would have not known about these.
I think i will leave steam as it is, my old xp is departing soon, its sooo slow and old i guess i be removing it soon from the disc.

I guess it's because this one exists and is close enough the game counts it, thus negating that combination?
