Fun, fast, and weird... that's Ignition in a nutshell.

From buggies through school busses, an assortment of racers plows through twisty, jumpy, shortcutty (and absolutely unique) tracks! There's no regard for safety, no time to explain, certainly no time to hit the brakes ever. (Do grab a friend and make time for the split-screen mode!) It's all about the race the finish no matter the cost – which does tend to make for a jolly ol' time.

Loved this game. Only had the demo back in the day but played it to death. Just brought it now, many thanks to all involved for bringing it to GOG!

Thank you GOG, i wasn't expecting it anymore.. Amazing guys.. Pizza Tycoon and now Ignition..

I really recommend Ignition to anyone, it didn't get so old.

Additionnal info not in original manual :
- press TAB to change view after the end of a race
- press ² (the key just below escape at top left of the keyboard) to validate or unvalidate the race result

Wurzelkraft: The first song is missing from the game, see attached image. You can select it in the menu but it will obviously just glitch. The CD volume setting also doesn't work. It will still be loud, no matter what you do.
I have the original CD (named Fun Tracks with menu in French) and music are on the CD as audio tracks, and I confirm that there are only 7 songs so it looks like it's complete. :-)

deja65: Guys,i need some help.Did anyone encounter the infinite explode bug.Basicly,when the race starts,after a period of time my car suddenly explodes without any reason.All respawns after that end with immediate explosions as soon as i get dropped on the road.Looks really funny,but is probably a bug ;).Any help would be nice.Cheers

EDIT: It started appearing right after i changed my keyboard layout.Maybe it has something to do with that :D,or maybe not.Cheers

Thiev: please check your in-game options: PERSP. POLY option should be OFF.
Infinite explosions ? Can someone check the date of FUN_WIN.EXE (or IGN_WIN.EXE) file ? If it is 16th September 1997 it's not the oldest one and I can provide you the latest patched exe file dated 23rd September 1997 (works with French "Fun Tracks" version, never tested on US/UK Ignintion version though). This patched exe works only for Windows version, not for DOS one.
There is also a 2nd patched version of the exe file for Windows version of the game to make it compatible with 3DFX cards back in the day. If someone is interested then PM me as I don't know if I can post download links here. Once again that version is efficient for Fun Tracks French version, I never tested it with other countries version named Ignition and maybe they will not work...

Wurzelkraft: Good News™ everyone! The Windows version is part of this release, although hidden! Found it after looking at the dosbox config files.

1. The disk image file is in the installation folder: http://i.imgur.com/23RAOJI.png

2. Mount it. I used Virtual CloneDrive without changing the file type.

3. Oh, a setup! http://i.imgur.com/NyEpsnO.png

4. You can then simply install the game with the setup file. It didn't work on my Windows 8.1 machine at first so I copied it to my Win XP VM and it runs nice.

But the game launches to apparently two black screen then exits... :/
Windows version doesn't work for Win 7, Win 8.x or Win 10 (tested them all with my original CD without success, even in compatibility mode).
Windows version works fine with Win 95, Win 98 (meaning it should also work wint Win Me, but is there someone in the world using Win Me system ?) and Win XP. No clue for Windows Vista.

Windows version works fine for me under Windows 10 (at least the GOG version does, installed from the game.gog file). You do have to install the 3DFX Patch though before the game will launch otherwise you get a blank screen which then exits. It goes without saying that you need to have NGlide installed first. ( http://www.zeus-software.com/downloads/nglide )

Yes! Fantastic release! Like others I have spent hours playing this with my friends. It is really a good old games.

Btw, I am glad that after while where no old games have been released, gog started releasing old titles again. Pizza Tycoon 1 & 2 , Indiana Jones games, now Ignition. All of them are great releases!

Nice addition to GOG! I feel like GOG is really lacking in racing games and it's very rare that racing game is added.
