The one console to rule them all…

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1, the satirical JRPG series finally takes on Windows computers everywhere, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 50% launch discount.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 takes place in the land of Gamindustry, it's a story of four goddesses also known as Console Patron Units, or CPUs, locked in a thousand year struggle, called the Console War, in which they fight each other for shares. Yup.
If that wasn't blunt enough - the Hyperdimension Neptunia series is a spoofy JRPG take on the gaming industry. The world, the characters, everything here is a little nod, a gamer-friendly meme, or just unabashed satire. But don't be mistaken, the game is far from a one-trick pony - there is plenty here for fans of the genre. Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 brings a novel fighting system which combines free movement with classic turn-based RPG combat, as well as many other huge improvements in mechanics and presentation over the game originally released on the PSP.

You can also pick up the Additional Content1 DLC pack featuring a much higher level cap, new quests, battles and Plans.

Is the Console War worth fighting? Find out with Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1, DRM-free now on GOG.com! The launch discount will end on November 10, 1:59 PM GMT.
Huh, this has to be about the best possible timing of a release ever.

I was, only moments ago, watching footage of this for the first time and was coming here to add a wishlist vote.
My wallet is going to take a beating Friday,I hope two and three get here too.
Wholy [removed] about [censored] time you [redacted].

PTSD from this damn game and the hint thread.

...now, where are all the other games in the series? They have been the top of my wishlist over on steam for.. well since they were added to steam. I am reluctant to remove them with how long this one took to get here.

Aside from that, I think GOG discovered they could sell to the anime crowd so we can expect more of these type of releases.....
More like japanese companies are realuzing they can make a profit even without drm, so, any chance of getting ultravstreet figher iv?

jamyskis: Erm, no. This is a port of a PlayStation Vita game that itself was a scaled-down remake of a PS3 title.
Ooooh, so port-a-licious!
Awesome, into my shopping cart it goes. :-)

Vythonaut: Look at dem boobs!

popperik: Well, I think HuniePop looked better in that regard.
The difference is, that Hunniepop is all about fanservice while the Neptunia Games mainly are about humor, at least if you understand the countless jokes and references to animes, VNs and games.

I have the game on my Vita so I won't buy it but it's nice to see such games such games are released here, gives me hope that VNs might be avaiable here someday so I don't need Steam for those anymore.
Looks amusing enough, and the introductory discount is tempting. Is the game actually from Japan? Seems to be, but there are so many J-clones now too.

Yeah but GOGer's needed to buy those jap games first (not necessarly evident as the main GOG market are western rpg, strategy games, etc.). Well, even if this particular game isn't my cup of tea, I'm glad the offer met the demand so maybe we can expect more interesting games like Valkyria Chronicles & co.....
Whoa, talk about coincidence. I just messaged Idea Factory yesterday pleading for GOG versions of their games... hilarious.
I just got this on steam, I wish GOG gave more of a hint of what will be going out soon. Now I want to buy it again!

Idea Factory is most definitely a Japanese developer. :)

Hm, it didn't get posted, okay attemp to answer #2.

Yes, they are from japan.
Sadly, I already own the full series...
Maybe on a (better) sale, for DRMfree awesomeness
