The one console to rule them all…

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1, the satirical JRPG series finally takes on Windows computers everywhere, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 50% launch discount.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 takes place in the land of Gamindustry, it's a story of four goddesses also known as Console Patron Units, or CPUs, locked in a thousand year struggle, called the Console War, in which they fight each other for shares. Yup.
If that wasn't blunt enough - the Hyperdimension Neptunia series is a spoofy JRPG take on the gaming industry. The world, the characters, everything here is a little nod, a gamer-friendly meme, or just unabashed satire. But don't be mistaken, the game is far from a one-trick pony - there is plenty here for fans of the genre. Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 brings a novel fighting system which combines free movement with classic turn-based RPG combat, as well as many other huge improvements in mechanics and presentation over the game originally released on the PSP.

You can also pick up the Additional Content1 DLC pack featuring a much higher level cap, new quests, battles and Plans.

Is the Console War worth fighting? Find out with Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1, DRM-free now on GOG.com! The launch discount will end on November 10, 1:59 PM GMT.

JMich: Dare I ask why it took so long?

...

Scratch that, I do dare.
Why did it take so long?

Dare you answer? :P

JudasIscariot: It was actually a matter of principle and I am not being facetious about it, either :) Just...guess what I mean, ok? :)

we need to bring to attention about a bug that does not save your system settings in the menu like audio and controller it defaults everything back to keyboard and mouse and not controller.

Why? The neptunia games are better.

JinKazaragi: Why? The neptunia games are better.
FFF is closer to classic fantasy setting. Neptunia has quite whimsical setting, which won't stop me from enjoying it of course. On that note, why do you consider Neptunia to be better games? I am asking it as someone who didn't play either game yet (I am downloading Neptunia as we speak).
Is this the censored or uncensored version? I need to know, it's very important. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I played all of them on the Sony consoles (Fairy Fencer F platin and all neptunia games platin (including the original games and the spin offs)) I just had way more fun with the neptunia games. Fairy Fencer f wasn't a bad JRPG but I couldn't enjoy it as much as the neptunia games excepting the first neptunia on the PS3 which was a terrible game.

The story isn't better in fairy fencer f and it hasn't the high amount of humor to compensate that like it is the case with the neptunia games.
The characters are about as bad as the ones in the neptunia games but the differnce is that they don't fit the story which tries to seem serious (it isn't).
The thing which almost made me stop playing was that the sidequests are incredebly annoying, I sometimes had to farm more than 12 hours just for one item which made up to 40 hours for the worst quest.

As far as I'm aware there is no censored or uncensored version.

I don't mind poor story if at least it tries to be serious. I don't mind lack of humour either. It is more of a setting.

Also, having played other IF games, such farming is usually part of optional stuff (or punishment for selling all the loot to vendor). From what I've read, FFF is quite easy (which for IF games says a lot), so that farming was most likely not necessary at all. It is also not unusual for people to seek drops in wrong places, In 1st Agarest, I remember one person was advising to seek Goblins in Slumber Forest, surely you will spend eternity there, trying to find them, because they dwell in different place entirely. Some drops might have low droprate but guaranteed if you do Overkill, etc.

It tries to be serious but it doesn't succeed in doing so.

None of that was the case here, it was the right enemy and overkill only gave you the common drop I used stealing but the success-rate is so low that it still took those 12 hours if you only rely on the drop rate it would takes at least twice as long.

And why are you interested in the games if you don't want to do the optional stuff you'll miss 90% of the game.

I don't get what kind of game you want.

Trying to be serious is more than enough, it doesn't have to succeed in that :)

I wrote it to point out that this farming isn't needed for core of the game, you can finish it without such farming just fine. And you misunderstood me, I like optional stuff and the way IF games deal with that. It makes their games feel more deep and "sentient", so to say, they always have things to aim for. You might be surprised, but I am actually looking toward getting rare stuff in FFF even if it means doing some farming :)) No matter what people say, but IF has item hunting/crafting done right (at least on example of IF games I played).

In short words, I want FFF. The sooner the better! :) While it isn't here, I will explore the lands of Gamindustri.

In most of their games they did that right yes (for example the neptunia games) FFF was their only game it was so annoying it was a gather 40 of this rare item and 40 of the other 2 rare items to craft one item you need for that sidequest to unlock something else.
Great release!

I just wish that this will not be the only Hyperdimension Neptunia game on GoG and more will follow in future.
Could someone who bought this and the DLC on GOG please confirm what DLC they actually received? Does the in-game DLC menu list only the 9 DLC items bellow?

01: Histy's Trial Item Package
02: Histy's Beginner's Item Package
03: fairy fencer f Collaboration Package
04: [Plutia] Battle Entry License
05: [Peashy] Battle Entry License
06: [Histoire] Battle Entry License
07: Additional Content Package 1
08: Additional Content Package 2
09: Additional Content Package 3

When you check the DLC directory (Neptunia Rebirth1\DLC), do you have folders NRB1DLC000000001 and NRB1DLC000000004 (these folders are not included on Steam).

I'd buy these to check myself, but can't really afford them with the exchange rate right now. So I'm only looking to buy if there really is DLC not included on Steam.

Thanks
