blotunga: I don't need realistic looking, but still pixel art is something I don't like. In old games they had to use it because the technology didn't allowed them to using more high-res images, but now I rather have something a bit more detailed than pixel art... There are plenty of old games with pixel graphics if I feel nostalgic. Just my 2 cents.

Necronaut: My point stands. You have options. Pixel art isn't as ubiquitous as you make it sound. Don't like it? Look elsewhere.

And btw, I never owned a console before the Gamecube, yet I can still appreciate pixel art for what it is despite the fact that I have no basis to be nostalgic about it. That's because it can stand on it's own as an artstyle regardless of the sentimental value some may hold over it.
My first console was the Gamecube, stop copying my backstory. :O

My first console was a PS3. Tried playing Red Dead Redemption on it. Found that I'm too dumb (or old) to use a controller. Haven't touched that console for 3 years. I love PC gaming with mouse and keyboard control!!!

I loved playing Mario Kart. You can't do that on a ps3. :P

There are actually devices that allow you to use mouse and keyboard with your consoles, like the XIM4. They are not cheap though, so not many people use them.

Wouldn't the mouse just feel strange?
Mouse acceleration etc.

No idea. Have seen it used by a streamer with a hand injury, playing Bloodborne with KB/M. Haven't used one myself, so can't comment on it.

Touwa: If you have an integrated graphic card along with that geforce it might be the problem.

ix_rv: Ah! That might be the problem, I guess. Though I have other games installed via gog galaxy and they never gave me this issue before. Is there a workaround of some sort to bypass it?
White-Listing games to use the Dedicated Nvidia GPU:

1. Right click on desktop.
2. Select Nvidia Control panel.
3. Nvidia Control panel will open.
4. Select Manage 3D Settings.
5. You will see two tabs Global Settings and Program Settings.
6. Select Glabal and select High Performance NVIDIA Processor. (This effectively turns off Optimus using the NVIDIA GPU all the time).
7. Or Select Program Settings.
8. Select Add under 1.
9. Find the game you want to white list.
10. Click on Open.
11. Under 2. Select High Performance NVIDIA Processor if not already selected.
12. Select Apply.
Any of the blues aware if the kickstarter backers are eligible for a gog key? There was some comments by backers on the KS website, but no answer from the devs.

Or he could just go into the BIOS and simply disable the onboard card. Its completely unnecessary to have it running at all along with an actual dedicated GPU and keeping it active can and will cause conflicts. Not to mention onboard chipsets often use system memory instead of dedicated VRAM, meaning just having it idle uses (or reserves) resources that the system might otherwise find handy.

I too am trying to figure this out. No response yet from Humble either. Also, it was an option in the survey.

omega64: I'd rather have pixel art than art that tries to be realistic. Indie's usually don't have the cash to do so succesfully.
:O
avatar
blotunga: But it doesn't has to be realistic. Just a bit higher resolution art. For example how Trine is drawn...
Trine isn´t 2D, the models and background is 3D, only that it´s a 2D sidescroller.
Banner saga or valdris story would be better examples
Ah, so this game that started off back on the Kickstart Craze finally arrives many years later. I am glad for this.

astrugar710: Loving the game so far. I wish the soundtrack was also available. I hope that it will come here too.
avatar
Fredd38: In the humble version of the game, all the sound file are in the installation folder, but it's lots of small files. I haven't played yet, so I can't say if that's the music from the whole game.
Thank you for the info. I just checked the GOG version and I see the OGG files in it as well. I will check them out later today.

Ok then Banner Saga. Heck, even Heroes of Might and Magic 1 had better graphics than what some indies serve as today. Actually about everything post 1998 or so had better graphics.

For the time being, I'm not going to download the build or reveal the Steam key supplied by Humble Bundle - hopefully the devs offer us a GOG alternative!
