Rise of the machines.

UPDATE 2: The second hero DLC included in the Season Pass is out! Yoko Takano joins the fray — born to protect and serve (for a price) she will spearhead the revolution in private military services!

UPDATE: The first hero DLC included in the Season Pass is out! You can now do battle as Yana "Tesla" Radovich, a self-taught genius and talented hacker, who relies both on her wits and her crazy hardware.

Hybrid Wars, a top-down shooter starring hulking machines and plenty of explodable enemies, is now available for Windows and Mac, DRM-free on GOG.com, with GOG Galaxy support for achievements.

In 2060, war is no longer a job for the meager foot soldier. Technology has given birth to a wide range of advanced killing machines, like tanks, robots, helicopters, and formidable mechs called Titans. As the Hybrid Wars break out, you'll find yourself commanding one such metallic monstrosity while roaming 8 expansive locations, filled with enemies to blow up and objectives to complete. Pick a hero, enter the belly of the beast you like best and equip it with the most efficient loadout. Quick reflexes and smart manoeuvres will go a long way but surviving consecutive waves of mechanized enemies and taking down towering bosses will take all the firepower you can muster.

Jump inside the cockpit of a futuristic war machine and join the Hybrid Wars, DRM-free on GOG.com.
If you want to gear up in full, pick up the Deluxe Edition, which includes an additional playable character, a digital art book, and the game's official soundtrack.
Two more hero characters are coming out in the following months, and you can recruit them now through the Season Pass.

You passed on Mushihimesama but you're carrying THIS?
Looks neat, unfortunately the trailer videos aren't showing much.

I think there's something wrong with the pricing, the standard version costs 15,99, the deluxe edition 17,99, but the upgrade is 5,49.

Where are the pixel graphics and procedurally generated permadeath platforms? The world no longer makes sense to me. ;P

Seriously, looks quite nice. Quick question - the BUY SERIES option bundles together the base game and the upgrade expansion, instead of the deluxe edition. If I buy it will it also marked the deluxe edition as owned, or will this be another title where a version keeps showing up as unowned in spite of owning all the pieces of it?
I normally do not mind day 1 DLCs but the way this game is being release kind of annoy me, I sure hope that season pass will add maps/levels and not just new characters. I wish games that have a normal and a deluxe edition would permit upgrading to the deluxe one for just the difference in price ($2 CAN instead of $6.49) within a week or two of purchase.

I'm putting this on my wishlist but I'm likely to wait for a "complete" edition on sale.
Interesting action game, but expensive and whats with the weird dlc/ editions. I was willing to give it a go but at the price they want I'll wait for further feedback and such to see if it's worth buying it.

'Love' how the steam version was cracked and uploaded before this game even came to gog. Just shows bringing games to gog isn't going to effect sales due to piracy.
Man, what I wouldn't give for a new mech commander game that looks like this
Trailer and screenshots look so different, I am confused. Furthermore, it seems to be pretty fast paced (one shot kills against machines).

Fairfox: Trailers look crappy, game looks good.
...Isn't marketing meant to be t'other way 'round? Hmm.

Imma add to my Wishist-for-a-Wishlist because, as written, neato!
Yeah take note game company, fire who ever put together that trailer/ especially the music.

Heard of this one?
Looks like a fun game especially for coop and the price is good but I don't like that Season Pass; I find it disappointing to see this in an action game. The extra content (two characters) could have been included in the game before it's release, not after as paid DLC. In my opinion, this shouldn't be the business model of small studios.

ps. the Ion Cannon in the trailer is all the money!
What a bummer.
I thought it was a game about racing cars that don't use gasoline.
For those who want all the content, your first instinct might be to buy Hybrid Wars (Deluxe Edition) and Season Pass ($26.98 in the US) but it's actually cheaper to get Hybrid Wars (Regular Edition), Deluxe Edition Upgrade and Season Pass ($25.39 US).
