Enjoy your censored game, guise!

And enjoy the thought that you gave money to the only storefront to explicitly sell a censored version!
I personally don't care if it's needed an extra patch or not. Since GOG doesn't have a 'filter' or acknowlegde-system of 18+ available they're probably forced to sell the censored version. As long as it's patchable to the naughty version... ;-) If I want to view the Steam-page I first have to log-in...

dgnfly: GOG is pretty woke so don't be surprised. They showed how woke they were when they rejected the most controversial games because it triggered the normies. The whole Devotion debacle shows how they will kowtow to the whiny minority when it comes to censorship.
I am wondering about this too, Been looking up about the censorship of other games and content besides there own. I don't like going down these rabbit holes but it's starting to show its face way too loudly now and effecting the how games are distributed on the platform. Wonder if this will slowly deter creatures from releasing games here and cause a drought for the platform overtime.

I'm long past the point of being suprised in regards to GOG's actions.
I am not suprised. I am dissapointed. I merely voiced my opinion on the matter.

Funny that you'd assume that we are so technologically illiterate that we can't download a single .dat file from a creator's official website. But then, this thread seems to have devolved into outrage over a perceived 'outrage culture', so I can't even act surprised.

Some silly comments above. Who cares ! :D

Finally! It is here! Instalibrared :D Hooray!

I am glad this game is censored here, that way we are responsible for the way it can be played, not gog.com, gog is a Batman ! ^ :D

Well done!

Uncensor patch should be available as a free goodie so that customers don’t have to rely on external websites.

Will it be censored?

The game will be fully uncensored (with an option to censor if you wish) on all stores with the exception of GOG. I still encourage players to purchase from GOG if that’s where they like to play games because the censored version can be uncensored pretty easily with an external patch (explained below).

How can I uncensor a censored version of the game?

All you have to do is download the external uncensor patch file below and place it in the same location/directory on your computer where the game executable file is. Then, the next time you start the game, it will automatically recognize and apply the patch.

Uncensor Patch (copy this link and paste it in your browser’s address bar):
https://www.huniepop.com/patch/HP2SteamyPatch.dat

On GOG, you can find where the game executable file is located by going to the game’s page from within the GOG Galaxy client, clicking the options button at the top, expanding “Manage installation” and then clicking “Show folder”. On Windows it will be called “HuniePop 2 - Double Date.exe” and on Mac it will be called “HuniePop 2 - Double Date.app”.

Is the game DRM-free?

Yes, the game is DRM-free.

Will there be achievements on the platforms that support them?

Yes, but not at launch. Unfortunately we did not have quite enough time to finish implementing Steam and GOG achievements, but we will add them in a future update. The achievements that can be retroactively unlocked, will be (meaning that if you have technically already met the conditions to unlock them, they will automatically unlock for you once they are implemented).

This is not an external site, this is an original developer site, gog.com is not a developer of this art.

HuniePot.com is.

If it's allright in your view to buy a crippled version of the game and rely on EXTERNAL server then it's entirely your choice.
Keep in mind tho that external server hosting the patch could be brought down at any moment in time and so GOG version could someday become non-uncensorable due to that.
Physical server infrastructure fails, mistakes happen, domain owners change, really a lot of things happen that could make the patch unreachable at really any point in time.
One could argue that uncensored content is thus DRMed.
Relying on external server hosted patches isn't good. It should all be on the distribution platform selling the game.

Right. Because everybody-except-for-GOG operates in just one market /s
Also, don't confuse porn with hentai, the terms describe 2 different things.

In relation to GOG's website the developer's website is external by book definition.
Perhaps you meant "official".

Odds are that I will buy my copy from Humble Bundle. They have a "DRM-free" icon on the store page. In my opinion, there is no point in a DRM-free store like GOG if they dictate what content a game should have.
So it's "woke" now to not want to directly sell pornography on your store front? It's not nudity here. It's hardcore pornographic nudity. It's not "softcore" or anything that you might see in regular games, here or on console. It's hardcore depictions of sexual content. Very different.

GOG had the thread pinned on the HuniePop forum telling people how to uncensor the game. So how is that them being woke or having issue with people playing or uncensoring the game if they're going out of their way to do that?

Not wanting to start selling pornography on GOG is a business decision. Ask the fine folks from Germany how that's working for them on Steam. I already see people wishing they'd have just sold the censor version there, so they could at least access the page, buy the game, and easily uncensor it with the patch.

It's a simple patch procedure to uncensor. You'll get achievements on GOG eventually, and you'll be supporting a good store.

Look at the disaster Steam has turned into since they stopped caring about curation and just decided to let whoever dump whatever crap they want on Steam. It's filled with porno games now, and not even good ones at that. That's one of the main reasons I've abandoned Steam.

I wouldn't be against GOG selling a few uncensored adult games here. Like the best of the best, but I wouldn't want anymore than that. And only if it wouldn't cause problems for them.

Really Steam is the last place you should be buying those games from anyways. Buy them from the actual stores that specialize in hentai / porn content. If you're a fan of those kinds of games you don't actually help that industry by doing the whole "no Steam - no buy" shtick. Steam isn't going to fight for you and those kinds of games, or anything that might damage them. They're not a hentai store (despite what it might seem like now), and they'd drop all of it in a heartbeat, and start banning all that stuff if it started to affect them negatively.

Well, you're illiterate enough to support the only website that goes out of its way to offer its users a censored version, so it's not that much of a leap. ;P
