and according to PCGW ( [url=https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/HuniePop_2:_Double_Date]https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/HuniePop_2:_Double_Date[/url] ) this game runs on Unity so I don't think there would be any special problems running this on Wine (unless devs used some heavily Windows-focused plugins, who knows, I guess keep an eye on the reports).

Nope. Not related. GOG tends to block all german indexed games at once. So normally they would have blocked the game if needed.

I think now that GOG now is completely based in Poland (a VERY catholic and VERY conservative country!) they have taken a very anti-sexual state I would expect from a country where catholic conservatism is rampant.

As I understand it, if the game is uncensored, it needs, according to German law, to be blocked in Germany, unless there is some form of age verification. Which explains why the "uncensored" games are blocked on other stores. On GOG, the game is "censored" (for whatever reason) and therefore it does not need to be blocked.

As I've stated before, I greatly prefer this pseudo-censoring (since the game can be easily censored or uncensored at will by the player, in my book it's no more than a different initial default, not unlike a game starting windowed or fullscreen) over regional blocking, even if that blocking doesn't affect me.

There isn't a lot of good things I can say about GOG nowadays (which is why I boycott them), but here I applaud their choice.

And just WHY should it matter?
If Poland doesn't want to see something they are free to prevent release there, but they should never influence entire international market just because the platform is registered in that country.
If a country doesn't like something they should prevent it in just that one country. No matter what country we are talking about.
Same for China and Germany.

Indeed, because it would be considered pornographic (pink shots and bodily fluids), and thus heavily age restricted - unless somebody actually would go to court and prove "it's art" (then a lot more is possible).

They still produced Witcher and CP2077, both heavy on sex, more or less explicit. I don't think that's the reason. I think GOG's policy is simply to release the game in one version to as many markets as they can, especially if uncensor patches are readily available (like with HuniePop or also Starnova and others). It's not the best solution, but it's IMO the best GOG can do, since those local censorship issues are not under their control. I mean, playing those games DRM-free and uncensored is a matter of a few clicks, if you know how to use Google. As I see it, it's actually their middle finger to the "conservative" bullshitters in the world.

You CAN NOT put "The Witcher" and "Cyberpunk" into the same category as "HuniePop 2".

Both CDPR games are Roleplaying games, which have explicit sex in them. But the sex blends into the normal "adult" living in those games. See it as R-Rated movies.

"HuniePop 2" has squirting / cum shots and such in it. That is PORNOGRAPHY. And the goal of the game is to see all those pornographic scenes with all girls. The uncensored game qualifies as pornography in comparison to the other games.

And YES, those two categories are strictly split in germany, UK (Squirting shots are forbidden there!), USA and so on. And given the political standing of Poland, I would put them in the field of those other countries. Sex / full frontal nudity YES, all "creamy shots" not so much. Only "under the table" please... For discrete users only...

I see your point, really, but in CP2077 you can use a dildo as a melee weapon... to slap people across the face. IMHO the level of sexual satire portrayed in both games comes pretty close, though in HuniePop it is more in your face.

And I would not quite call anime artwork of some hugely unrealistic characters "pornography", much like the drawing a 5 year-old makes of a person being stabbed in the face with a knife is not quite "gore". Call it lewd and decadent artwork if you will, but it's not the real thing, nor should we ever forget what the real things are in life, lest we fall victim to witch hunts and inquisitions.

"Pornography" meens the explicit depiction of sexual acts or poses. Penetration, Fixation on "openings", "fluids". They do not make differences between "human/real" and "drawn/animated/unreal".

Neither in the US, nor in UK, nor in Japan (!), nor in Germany. And a dildo as a melee weapon is sexual innuendo at best, but nothing sexual in itself.

GOG does not feature pornography. The FEW games here, that cross the border (censored, with uncensor patches elswhere) can be count on two hands. GOG intends not to sell such stuff here, from the beginning.

If they WANTED, we would have had more stuff here, uncensored even. And countries like germany would be region-locked out (like on Steam). Since that is NOT the case, GOG itself has problems with that stuff and does not want to sell it, if they ignore it. We can be happy about every title, that is sold here. Unfortunately.

There isn't really any need to download anything.

Just create an empty file called "huniepop_uncensored_patch.game" and put this file in the same location as the "HuniePop.exe" executable.
