wolfsite: There are modern devices such as the Sinden light gun which work quite well on modern displays, main issue right now is finding one.
Yeah, but it won't be a "Light Gun" game since it wasn't programmed with this in mind. This game will either work with Gyro motion or something like a Wiimote that will move a mouse cursor.

The mouse (pointer) is your light gun. You wont get any more precise than that on a screen.

angel_hellsing: Could be cool see the classics (HOTD1+2) here too also this remake.
You won't see any SEGA game here, at least not in the foreseable future.

I am happy, that we get these remakes. Just bring them on, guys and girls!

With absolute tracking you would.

Bring back proper light guns!

Just played the game for about 40 minutes (I beat the game on normal difficulty) and I must say they nailed the feel of the game overall.

I had a lot of fun, aiming with the mouse was easy (just need to adjust mouse sensitivity to your preference) and can't wait to jump back in as there are more diverging paths to find giving multiple routes in game for some variety.

Only complaint is the sound of a bullet hitting metal is a little comical and out of place.

But it is pretty faithful to the original arcade game.

If only you could get a decent light gun or something for the PC.

Reports appear that the Sinden Light Gun works with this game. Some people have issues but I have seen developer notes that they will work to improve it. (Don't know if I can direct link to the developer comment.)

So hopefully they will provide more support and it comes here.

Edit: Okay I'm going to stop now I'm sounding more like a product shill, apologies to all.

The post says you can turn-off the Crosshairs, so it's not a real Light Gun, it's a mouse inside a gun shell.
Cool. From what I've seen the PC version also doesn't suffer from the shortcomings of the Switch one, namely performance and controls.

Does it really matter? It seems to work just about as well as "real" light guns, and it'd still be more challenging to hit things that way than just moving around one's standard mouse.

When was the last time you used a real light gun?
I did buy it, but sadly did have to ask for a refund, because the game refuses to load, I've got a crash to desktop all the time. I also tried to reinstall it four (4) times. Restarted the computer more times. Nothing.

All the logos show up and after the FMOD logo, the main menu screen (an image) loads up, but no... crashing.
I've also got a AMD Radeon driver report. I did send the feedback, maybe they know, what to do.

My configuration: AMD Ryzen 5600G with Radeon Vega 7, 32 GB DDR4 RAM, Windows 10 Home 64-bit version 21H2 build 19044.1645, 1 TB SSD (Patriot P1, NVMe).

Thinks for bringing that to my attention. There are other guns too but this one looks easy to setup.

Different question: When was the last time you used a CRT TV?
Because "real" light guns don't work on plasma and LCD screens, rear projection TVs and video projectors.

Last week when played Virtua Cop 2 on my 20" CRT with my SEGA Saturn hooked via a custom-made component cable that converts the RGB signal to a YPbPr signal.

So you are aware that "real" Lightguns aren't really a thing anymore in today's world (bar any old tech, one may still have available at home).
Good.
Nostalgia hit! HARD.
Well, it's not exactly the same as playing it at the arcade, but I'm gonna enjoy this classic so much at home!
