A haze of neon carnage.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, a conclusion to the psychotic saga, is now available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com!

Limbs strewn everywhere, pulsating to the rhythmic thump of a haunting mixtape sound. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is a conclusion to the game that's conquered so many of our hearts, then left them bleeding out in the corner of a musty motel room. A quiet end, we should count ourselves lucky. Hotline Miami is now back with a thick, bloody vengeance. If there is one thing to love about the series (other than than the incredible soundtrack and gritty neon-laced setting), it's the precise, fast-paced gameplay which just got bigger and better. There are plenty of new, unique mask abilities like dual wielding or chainsaws (or maybe even both?), as well as seven new playable characters to make up this twisted part-prequel, part-sequel story of Jacket's aftermath.

If there was ever a good reason to pick up the bigger package, the Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number Digital Special Edition comes with the Remix EP and 6 unique tracks. An absolute treat, if you're into the Hotline musical stylings. Nothing's lost if you don't want to make the commitment just yet. You can always pick up the standard edition, and get the upgrade later. Once it is complete, all versions of the game will also come with a DRM-free Custom Level Editor to create your own maps and share them with friends.

Ring ring. It's Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. Will you pick up?

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is unavailable for purchase in Australia. If you missed our brief statement during pre-orders, we'd like to shed a bit of light on the situation:

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number was refused classification by the Australian Classification Board - the classification and censorship body formed by the Australian Government - this means that we are legally unable to sell the game to our Australian customers. We hated to hear it as much as you do, but after thoughtful consideration we felt that by refusing to sell the game worldwide, we would effectively apply the Australian censorship to 190+ other countries in the world. That would be unfairly punishing not just to our customers, but also the developers who took a stand against censoring their game.
By preventing purchases from IP's located within the borders of Australia, we make sure that the smallest number of people are affected by the ban. It sucks, but we believe it's the least of all evils.

GeneralFailer: According to PCGamingWiki, Australians They can't.
I'm near the end of act 3 now. As much as I hate to say it, so far I very much agree with FowderSoap's 2-star review. The unnecessary restrictions, the inferior level design (I'm not having a great deal of fun running down long corridors to be gunned down by unseen enemies), the bugs.

The soundtrack is fucking awesome though. Which makes the fact that they didn't include the .ogg music files this time around all the more disappointing.

Lemon_Curry: It has to be Saviour of the Soul although it's only one woman. She's fighting the highly effeminate villain Silver Fox (Aaron Kwok at the top of his game). Here's the scene in question:

Thanks for that awesome scene. Movie -> Wishlist.
But it's not the scene I had in mind. I'm pretty sure it was a woman that was run through with the stall door, and overall it was more dark and gritty (and less super-hero-fantastic). More a mix of spectacular Kung Fu and Hong Kong crime a la P.T.U..

Technically they can, but they can only access the store page if they have a direct link. Still a better way than cheating Steam only to give Valve their share of the sale. At least until Humble Store fixes this.

Better solution for aussies rather than give money to Steam or Humble - use a VPN instead - some money is better for devs + GOG than none from aussies.
Wishlisted.
I am liking it so far. Feels a little less Hotline Miami though: the story is less "psychedelic" and I feel the levels to be more "one-way designed", meaning that there is a heavier focus on planning the right path with the right weapon (a lot of focus on guns too, which sucks a little to a knife lover), which subtracts that improvising action from the first one, when you just had to run picking up whatever was on the floor and smash skulls while dodging bullets.
Other than that, some bugs aside, I am loving it. 9/10

tinyE: One thing HM 1 has (don't know about #2) that no other game can claim is the ability to not only kill someone with a door but to virtually disembowel them! Good stuff!

I'll wait on some concrete reviews before I ponder buying this but it for sure goes on my wishlist for now.
This one is gorier I would say. When you go deep into one fattie with the chainsaw, intestines start spreading around and there is more blood in general.
I'm trying to review it right now, but for some reason I can't submit the review (the review button totally disappeared on me) and now it says I gave the game 5-stars which I definitely DID NOT DO.

edit: nevermind it seems to have posted anyway. Odd.

edit2: yeah it says I gave the game 5 stars when I gave it 2 stars. What the heck?

What's wrong with giving money to Humble? More often than not, they may be a bunch of filthy Steam key sellers. But as far as HM2 is concerned, they'd be my seller of choice: DRM-free and no regional lock. Yeah, there's regional pricing, but it's the same here. Long story short, I don't see any reason to not buy it from Humble. Considering GOG irrevocably blew their good guy-credentials with their region lock bullshit, I certainly wouldn't bother with VPNs just to give them my money.
Well, this is everything I wanted for Christmas.

Dennation outdid themselves.

Thanks GoG.

But humble are region locking, they are region choosing not to show the game page. Like GOG and steam are. Which I think is a poor show. By all means show on the page that Australians can't buy the game but don't pretend with a 404 or hidden search result that it doesn't exist.

GOG have the guts to say it as it is. "Sorry this game is not available to you due to the decisions of your game classification board"

I don't pirate and luckily I'm not really interested in the game so I won't have to muck around with VPNs or alternative accounts. Wouldn't even try that with steam (second account and gifting is bad enough with them).

Thanks for the info! So I guess I can file the claim that Aussies can buy HM2 via Humble under "Never trust anything you read on the internet". That really, really sucks!

It may be possible to do it with steam, there is a buy games 1+2 pack on the steam page for the first game, I added that to see and it said I owned part of it (first game) no idea if it would object if I tried to buy it. But I wouldn't want go and buy the first game twice just to see. Could be an option for anyone who wanted to buy both from Australia.
For the record my review should be 2-stars and not 5-stars. I'm pretty angry that the site changed the rating. I'm 100% certain that I put 2-stars before submitting the review. Absolutely 100% certain.

I put in a support ticket to fix it the instant the review went up with the wrong score but still no response from GOG...

I stand by my words. Australians technically can buy it without using VPN or pretending to be from a different country by other means. I do acknowledge that Humble Store practices region locking but this method is still better than deceiving Steam for several reasons even without counting included Steam key.
