A haze of neon carnage.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, a conclusion to the psychotic saga, is now available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com!

Limbs strewn everywhere, pulsating to the rhythmic thump of a haunting mixtape sound. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is a conclusion to the game that's conquered so many of our hearts, then left them bleeding out in the corner of a musty motel room. A quiet end, we should count ourselves lucky. Hotline Miami is now back with a thick, bloody vengeance. If there is one thing to love about the series (other than than the incredible soundtrack and gritty neon-laced setting), it's the precise, fast-paced gameplay which just got bigger and better. There are plenty of new, unique mask abilities like dual wielding or chainsaws (or maybe even both?), as well as seven new playable characters to make up this twisted part-prequel, part-sequel story of Jacket's aftermath.

If there was ever a good reason to pick up the bigger package, the Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number Digital Special Edition comes with the Remix EP and 6 unique tracks. An absolute treat, if you're into the Hotline musical stylings. Nothing's lost if you don't want to make the commitment just yet. You can always pick up the standard edition, and get the upgrade later. Once it is complete, all versions of the game will also come with a DRM-free Custom Level Editor to create your own maps and share them with friends.

Ring ring. It's Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. Will you pick up?

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is unavailable for purchase in Australia. If you missed our brief statement during pre-orders, we'd like to shed a bit of light on the situation:

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number was refused classification by the Australian Classification Board - the classification and censorship body formed by the Australian Government - this means that we are legally unable to sell the game to our Australian customers. We hated to hear it as much as you do, but after thoughtful consideration we felt that by refusing to sell the game worldwide, we would effectively apply the Australian censorship to 190+ other countries in the world. That would be unfairly punishing not just to our customers, but also the developers who took a stand against censoring their game.
By preventing purchases from IP's located within the borders of Australia, we make sure that the smallest number of people are affected by the ban. It sucks, but we believe it's the least of all evils.

So how is it? The trailer seemed like the game became more of a shooter.

Pataphysician: So I bought the special edition with remix EP here. But it doesn't seem to include the original soundtrack.

Hotline Miami 1 had the music files in the installation folder, but this one doesn't.

Moreover, Steam has the soundtrack to buy, but you have to buy it as DLC. That is, you have to buy the game on Steam before you can buy the soundtrack on Steam.

Is there any way to acquire the soundtrack after buying the GOG version?
Well, here are Jasper Byrne's tracks: http://spacerecordings.bandcamp.com/album/hotline-miami-2-ep

Here's Vinyl+Game for 60 bucks: http://store.iam8bit.com/products/hlm2

Here's a various list of songs: http://hotlinemiami.wikia.com/wiki/Soundtrack

And you can always find the music on YouTube.

tinyE: I love this series but I'm so bad at them it does become a little frustrating. One thing HM 1 has (don't know about #2) that no other game can claim is the ability to not only kill someone with a door but to virtually disembowel them! Good stuff!
There is a crazy Hongkong action movie were this happens. I've seen it many many years ago in late night tv. And I can't remember the name. Always wanted to watch it again too see if I still liked it. When I saw that movie I sat open-mouthed for most of the time.

Was it "Story Of Ricky" by any chance?

edit: Never mind, if you saw it on TV, chances are it wasn't "Story Of Ricky"... :o)

I really don't know. The fight was between two women in a (public?) restroom. And one of them ripped out one of the stall doors (that was already broken) and ran the other one through with it.
hi all. I can't find the level editor. Is it an update?

It's coming soon :)
Just finished the first act. Most of it was gun fights, as opposed to melee weapons . Change of pace, but still great :D

Wait 'til you get to Evan and Tony.

It has to be Saviour of the Soul although it's only one woman. She's fighting the highly effeminate villain Silver Fox (Aaron Kwok at the top of his game). Here's the scene in question:

When you play as Evan, you gotta get him in his "roid rage" phase by punching two dudes to a bloody pulp. Once he takes off his jacket, it's ON! :D

Mr.Caine: having played it for 30 minutes I'd say it's different then HM1 but in a good way.
I might be interested in this one, if:

1) The controls have been improved
2) The story is less self-satisfied postmodernism
3) It's less physically painful to look at.
