Woo! I knew I was right to wait for this to show up here instead of succumbing to the Steam version. Thanks GOG for proving me right!
Fantastic news. Instabuy (for the old versions).
However as a cynic ---- >> i am wondering whether the new version has not sold as well as Gearbox had hoped?. Anyone kept one eye on the new one when it was released etc?.

Hmmm with Gearbox now here.... which games might we get in future? (i imagine Borderlands 1& 2 plus the zillions of DLC for them wont appear here for a while. )
So the Steam version is on sale (which is amusing) and is actually about $3.50 CDN cheaper than here. But I think I'll just grab it here...
Awesome release! If this isn't an instabuy, then I don't know what is. Nice to see Gearbox on GOG, finally.

xieliming: Looks like they fixed the formations issue and many other things: https://gearboxsoftware.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/205281840-Homeworld-Remastered-Collection-Update-Information

Good on 'em for fixing/maintaining it after so long. Plus releasing on GOG :)

IronArcturus: So how exactly have the formations changed? Are they still mapped to the F2-F4 buttons?
Quick gllance at keybinds shows big expansion
F2 to F7 = Tactics (F3-5) and Stance (F4-7)
Shift + F1 to F9 = Ship types ranks (F1-3) and Formations (F4-9)
[ and ] = next and Previous Tactic

seems substancial, can confirm all rebindable also
Nice GOG. Real nice. =)

I think I won the original using nothing but strait line and claw. :P

Do they still have a "guard" formation? I can't remember if this was in Cataclysm or Homeworld, but I remember the ships could form a sphere around a single ship to guard it.

well 100,000 preorders says you're wrong
Randy Pitchford on Twitter: "Big publishers take note: Homeworld Remastered has cracked 100k pre-sales with just a 30 day campaign and no retail strong arm tactics."

If that's not enough Steam Spy gives
Owners: 541,512 ± 18,322 on 25th Feb 2015, for an small indie releasing a remaster, that's good sales

Was the claw formation the one that looked like an X symbol?

Yeah but it was concave. What would be the tips of the claw lead and the further down you went the further back the ship was.

And I need to correct myself. There are a few siege type missions where you have to go sphere (I think that's what it's called) so you can cover all sides of the Mother Ship.

Full list
] = Next Tactic
[ = Previous Tactic
F2 = Offensive Tactic
F3 = Defensive Tactic
F4 = Passive Tactic
F5 = Aggressive Stance
F6 = Evasive Stance
F7 = Neutral Stance

Shift +
F1 = Form Capital Phalanx
F2 = Form Frigate Line
F3 = Form Fighter Screen
F4 = Delta Formation
F5 = Broad Formation
F6 = X Formation
F7 = Claw Formation
F8 = Wall Formation
F9 = Sphere Formation

Plus
/ = Disband Formation
Shift + / = Undo Formation

F9 is your fav, but I think that's everything bound to keys.
Lots of keybinds, this is just one section.

Very cool! Also, do you know if the engine is either DirectX or OpenGL?
Really bummed not to see Cataclysm among the bonus content. I somewhat understand that they couldn't remaster it with the missing source code and all but seeing the original games among the bonus content I was really hoping to find Cataclysm among them. Oh well, still happy to see this whole package here. Might actually pick it up during the next couple of days.
Cool thing with these commands in Remastered is that of course you have them on your HUD, but if you put the mouse over them it tells you the quick key. A lot easier than looking for your notes screaming "What the fuck is Delta!? What the fuck is Delta!?" :P
