tinyE: They are there but you need to download the whole thing to get them, which is what I'm going through right now. :P

tritone: Your reply "implies" you're doing this on XP... is that true? Does anyone know if this bundle can play the CLASSIC versions on XP? Thx.
Minimum system requirements - Windows: OS: Windows Vista
Processor: 2.2GHz Dual Core Processor
Memory: 1 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS (512MB) / ATI Radeon HD4800 (512MB)
Storage: 20 GB available space

OS listed here is what GOG/Gearbox provide support for if you have issues. This is due to the dropping of XP support from MS, not because XP is obsolete for games that were made for it, or even earlier OS.

The crucial factor is if you have a dual core CPU, and that's for remastered.
Anything later than a Pentium 4, so core 2 onwards, I got a Pentium 4 640 in 2005, a few months later, dual core dropped and AAA switched leaving me up the creek, with one core, and no paddles.

Classic was made for single core so should be fine. If GOG's "Compatibility", for modern OS's gives you no problems, neither should these. Hell just rip out the GOG files and try that, on a game you already have, might even be easier to get working on older rigs/OS's, they don't need the modern compatibilty fixes.

Gearbox site says this about classic
As a free bonus, this collection also includes original, non-remastered versions of Homeworld Classic and Homeworld 2 Classic, preserving the purest form of the original releases with compatibility for modern operating systems.

PC Gaming Wiki is a good source of fixes for games, and just seen this

Classic

Homeworld 2 - PCGamingWiki

Hope that helps, basically if the game was made for the CPU and or GPU you have, it works, as well today as it did then, the only really game breaking change was the switch from single core to multi, which in practise means 2 or more cores.

{Edit: to be clear, my Pentium 4 was 64-bit using hyperthreading, when I say 2 cores, I mean physical ones, not hyperthreaded ones.}

Have fun, but seriously Windows 7 is much better than XP, if your PC, can't run it, you can only play older games anyway, did that from 2005 to 2011, it sucked then, at least you have GOG to get old games from.
My source was less reputable, but was only online option, in those days.

wizisi2k: since I own the games on Steam and I don't want to re-buy them again, I'll wait for it to show up in GOG connect. Still very nice release.
That's the problem with that system, great as it is to get free games, others are saying the same thing.

It occurs to me that as GOG's only reason for doing this is to attract new Steam users to GOG, the games with Multiplayer modes, that don't give cross play with Steam (do any yet?), are less attractive propositions than spg titles, for connect.

The offline installer is my main attraction to GOG versions, DRM free is great, but I'd accept DRM, with installer over DRM free with online client attached
I made a commitment to buy all the games I own on Steam, that I wan to keep, the day they appeared on GOG.
I made my decision public knowledge, but I decided it privately, and that's more important to me.
Thus I will continue to buy the games the day they appear on GOG.

There are a few games on GOG, that I own on steam that predate this commitment, I will take the connect versions if they appear, but will not care if they don't.

I no longer buy games on Steam, and destroy each Steam version as I get the GOG one, as Steam won't let me give them away.
That also brings up the fact GOG may remove the connect copy, if I destroy the Steam one.
I've contacted them for clarification, as to whether it's only for refunded games, not destroyed ones, but not heard back yet, so that's a sticking point until I do.

Anyway, your decision, to hope for a connect game, mine to say sod waiting, give me a game to keep, without the damn client crap.
is this combined game in game library or separate out like what GOG is doing recently to all games?
I would hope it is separate out , having 4 to 5 games (remake and classics) in one folder do not feel tidy and different from GOG current practice.

Separate folders but one install, and as I mentioned earlier, one menu with options to play any of the four.

You can go into each folder and create separate icons for each but I really don't see the point.
How do you "destroy" a game on Steam?

How do you know it's tomorrow and not in 2-3 days, for example?

By the Power of Grayskull you idiot! :P

You request Steam remove it from your account, technically you can ressurect, not sure if that's got a time limit on it, but it's meant to be a safeguard against account theft and malicious/accidental deleting.
one caveat, if you bought a bundle, you can only remove the entire bundle.

Games are no longer listed, as owned by you, and Steam's as inconsistant with this as everything else.

Click on the support option for the game, and you should see the remove from account, sometimes happens fast, some I requested weeks ago. Vampire Bloodlines, had no remove option, added support ticket, no response, that's Steam support for you.

It's a new system, but it exists, my ambition is to remove Steam from my PC, but Valve games on GOG, not likely.
I have no qualms about using cracks on games I paid for, not gone down that route yet.

Looks like they fixed the formations issue and many other things: https://gearboxsoftware.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/205281840-Homeworld-Remastered-Collection-Update-Information

Good on 'em for fixing/maintaining it after so long. Plus releasing on GOG :)

I'm just assuming because on the gamecard it says 'This item will be available for download on June 8, 2016.'
Nice release. 2 more games i can retire the physical discs from my collection, been a while.

So how exactly have the formations changed? Are they still mapped to the F2-F4 buttons?
