Return to the Mothership

Homeworld Remastered Collection, containing the legendary space RTSs turned instant classics, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com with GOG Galaxy support for achievements and multiplayer, and a 50% launch discount.

Homeworld brought real-time strategy into actual 3D, creating a truly free-form tactical experience across battlefields vast in every dimension. It did so in a way that's not just manageable, but overwhelmingly fun! This engrossing space opera chronicles the struggles of an alien race, the Kushan, locked in a vicious conflict with a tyrannical empire as they make their way to the promised land.
Homeworld 2 expanded on the setting and story even further, while refining the overall gameplay and visual experience. Now the whole saga has been remastered, putting a fresh coat of paint and techno-magic over this timeless experience, so that new and veteran players alike can finally return safely to their true Homeworld. This version also includes the latest massive patch, which brings tons of radical changes to formations, ship behavior, gameplay balance, and more.

The Homeworld Remastered Collection includes both the classic and remastered editions of Homeworld & Homeworld 2.
Dedicated fans can also grab the remastered soundtrack from both games, available in MP3 and FLAC.

Engage in full-scale battle between vast 3D fleets in Homeworld Remastered Collection, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 50% discount will last until June 10, 12:59 PM UTC.

vicklemos: Welcome, Gearbox.
Make yourself at home ;)
Oh sweet! I forgot it's them who had the license.... Crossing fingers for Borderlands 1.......
Hey, GBX is here

Bring on the Brothers in Arms series now pls, thank you :)
BTW, has anyone tried these Classic versions with Windows XP?
Finally!

Sadly, I think I can only wishlist it for now...

However, I have 2 questions:
Do classic versions come as separate games on a shelf or are they all bundled together within remaster?
Is this already patched to version 2.0? (Steam version is getting the update today.) Edit: read OP more carefully... -.-'

MaxFulvus: Is Homeworld Cataclysm included ?
No. Supposedly the source for it was lost.

Matruchus: Well finally I can try this game. The only rts like game of the 90s I missed out.

Now where is Deserts of Kharak?
WAIT....YOU'VE NEVER PLAYED THIS!?

You know how most games have some long ass intro video that you maybe watch once and then skip over?

NO MORE

Turn down the lights, take the phone off the hook, sit back and enjoy. The camera creeps up up on the Mother Ship as systems are brought on line and final prep is made for undocking.

YOU'RE GONNA SHIT!!!!!!! XD
I'll wait for it to be included in GOG Connect.
Holy shit
Meh!

While Gearbox unlike the common practice in the game development industry owns the Borderlands IP, I am pretty sure that Borderlands coming here would still be upto Take Two. However GOG has signed them here as well...
Woohoo, instabuy

I tried Homeworld 2 when it first came out but didn't understand what was going on or how to play it, so now many years later time to try again.

Just noticed that on the release page that you also get Homeworld 1 & 2 Classic as a bonus

Looks like Gearbox are onboard now, stuff like Borderlands and their release of Duke (not their fault!)
Let the battle for the stars begin

They could still release the original, sans source code.
