Tiny Bang Story, Morphopolis, plus the Enigmatis and Nightmares from the Deep trilogies.

Who doesn't love the look of a messy room, devilishly concealing all the important items when you need them the most? That guilty pleasure of rummaging around for your car keys, wallet, or that grotesque ivory ornament which unlocks the secrets to the family curse, is what Hidden Object Games are all about!
We kick off their arrival on GOG.COM with a fine selection that was hiding in plain sight and some purty 70% discounts until August 10th, 1pm UTC.

Tiny Bang Story takes place on a lovely planet thrown into disarray after an unfortunate clash with a total jerk of a meteor. Help fix it by solving quirky puzzles and scouring hand-drawn screens for objects of interest.

The Enigmatis trilogy begins on the spooky streets of Maple Creek, a place overflowing with secrets, tragedy, and hidden knickknacks! Disoriented and confused after being hit by a furious storm, you must steel your nerves and stay focused on finding that missing girl.

Morphopolis is an evocative puzzle adventure set in an almost-psychedelic forest undergrowth full of curious insects. Gorgeous exploration and fascinating discoveries await.

Ghost ships, doomed romance, pirate treasure, and items in need of finding make up the Nightmares from the Deep trilogy, a chilling tale straight from Davy Jones' locker.

I'm not much into the adventure genre but Enigmatis seem alright from what i have seen and read so i might consider picking that one up.

It also seems some people don't want adventure games here or similar stuff but GOG shouldn't curate it's store based on genre, quality is what matters and people like different stuff so it only make sense.

Excellent!!
A few are going to be instabuy.
Thank you GOG for getting Hidden Object Games.
I would still hope you will continue curation, and release the good quality games.

I would pay for a good "Solitaire" or "Shanghai" game. :)
Sounds like the software version of "What's underneath my couch cushions?"
Nice that they are here! Could be a genre for the kids (if they are German - and kids-friendly).

Now that is one creepy shovelware-ridden genre. One freaky pandora box kicked open. But to be fair, there are a few cool games in there ("Hidden folks", the original "Huntsville / Mystery Case Files", the "Travelogue" ones, and, yeah, I just bought "Morphopolis" on steam a few days ago). But damn, that will be some heavy load on gogs curator's shoulders.
Of the genre, Artifex Mundi has the most consistently quality games. While I love these kind of games (quick "adventurey" kind of genre) some devs do make some truly horrible ones. Of the devs available, I think GOG chose one of the best to partner with.

And keep in mind, GOG makes deals with developers/publishers, not genres.

I've been interested in trying a hidden object game. I've heard good things about the Drawn series so I hope those show up eventually.

I would pay for a good "Solitaire" or "Shanghai" game with cute girl pictures. :)
In fact, I have bought several at Steam. :-P
Nightmares from the Deep is a really nice series. Can't say it is really my thing but many people enjoy these games especially if they have time constraints.

Enjoy! :)
I have a soft spot for hidden object games. yes most if them are the same but I like puzzles.

modern day crosswords in my mind
I would like the original "Shanghai"-games from Activision (especially on the AMIGA), but those will not come here unfortunately... :(

ditto

I don't see how solitaire is an insult.

I'd LOVE some great solitaire games in here and some great card games in here; some Gin Rummy, Poker, Cribbage.

Unfortunately Hoyle has made their AI progressively worse over the years so they're shit now which really limits what is out there.

So much for GOG curator standards.

Also, aren't those games mainly played on mobiles?
I love hidden object games! By the look of the trailer of these newly released games, they all look good, especially the Enigmatis series. But like visual novels, there are crap tons of them. I hope GOG doesn't flood the store page with a bunch of hidden object games.
