Reliving the glory days.

Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption is now available DRM-free on GOG.com, 10% off until August 6th, 7pm UTC.

From the makers of the legendary Quest for Glory series comes a fresh take on the adventure/RPG genre, again set in the world of Gloriana. Young Shawn really really wants to be a thief but after a botched B&E attempt, he ends up in the Hero-U school. Here he'll pick up new skills (relevant to the Fighter/Mage/Thief/Paladin professions) and eventually set out on the adventure of his life, carrying light-hearted conversations with quirky characters, getting involved in turn-based skirmishes, and solving puzzles his own way.
Definitely lovely looking. Anxious to give it a whirl. Hoping it's good.

so glad this is out and here.

thanks to the coles and gog for making it happen.
Wait what? Literally just dropped on GOG out of nowhere, with no fanfare whatsoever?
Interesting and with Linux version. Surely buying this one! Is it using AGS?

Very nice. It's on GOG first and with achievements. I've been keeping an eye on this title for a while. Nice to finally see a release.

Cavalary: Now this is a game that definitely belongs here, and it's nice to see it see the light of day. Speaking purely of the game though, as creative content.
As a product to be purchased though, could do with being probably half the price (as full price, I mean... but I guess there will be big sales soon), and definitely without regional price hikes, which again end up applied even for self-published indies, kickstarted ones too. Utterly rotten, this last part.
Sure, if you want to undercut the people that backed it you coud offer it for less than half price at the start. The lowest pledgde that got you the game on kickstarter was 20 $. I dont doubt there woud be a sale sometime but i dont think it will be too soon to avoid crapping on the Backers.

Edit: i didnt back it but i can understand the price.

Wow, somehow I missed that this was being made let alone released! I am very much interested! Wonderful to see the Coles making a fresh outing. I hope they do well!
It is so delightful to see a Kickstarter project (well, two projects in this case) to succeed with Day-1 Linux release!

Most probably, will buy in a short time.
I've got a question! It says here that this is the 1st in a series, which will feature students from the Hero-U. How many parts are they planning to create? Is there a hero rooster which list all the characters that they've planned? I presume one game for each character?
I guess it will depend at the number of sales.
Mh, never heard of this before...
Phew. While I love the gameplay of QFG, QFI and Heroines Quest, I never aquired a taste for this kind of ... story, world building, humour, I don't know, this special sierry style. Where everything is silly, magical and no one acts like a real person. Having a teenager as protagonist and a school for magic and hero stuff as stage is the cherry on top.
Off to the long term wishlist.

The Coles are hoping to make five Hero-U games. The next game should have a wizard as protagonist (probably a female wizard). If I remember correctly, the third and fourth game should have a warrior and a paladin as protagonist. The fifth game is planned to be "something special" (I'm guessing that the four characters of the previous games will return in the fifth one).

I have been an alpha and beta tester for the game and during the game it becomes clear that one of the plot lines is not resolved in the first game. It is an overarching plot line that will connect all the games.

But all of this will depend on how well the first game sells.

I can recommend this game to everyone who liked Quest for Glory
