:( at Linux support indeed being lacking. I really hope there are plans to still add that at a later date, given that the original worked flawlessly on Linux. Anyone hard anything solid about the developer's plans for this?

It's looking good for a linux version. On linuxgameconsortium . com there's an article about it.
