Loger13: I want to warn everyone:
Despite the fact that the text says that the sale will last "until October 18, 5PM UTC", REAL timer on the page https://www.gog.com/promo/20171011_special_promo_action_rpgs shows that there are only 40 hours left (less than two days).
This is clearly a mistake (either in the announcement or in the discount settings), but I do not know if the "blue shifts" are read in the topic and whether the mistake is corrected before the start of weekend, so I advise those wishing to use the discount not to delay. On the weekend, there will be no one to correct the mistake and the discount will end before the announced date.
It is already gone! I was in the promo page and browsed to the game description page, go back to the promo page and puff it was gone!. Discounts for Grim Dawn are still enabled but the other games are back to their regular prices.

Tarhiel: I cannot help but ask: in the description on the page you linked it is written:

"Grim Dawn Loyalist Edition - Everything from the $50 version plus... First Grim Dawn expansion when released."

Does that mean there are other expansions planned, besides Ashes of Malmouth?
Or do they mean Crucible as the first one?
Crucible is a kickstarter award for reaching 520k+, survival mode, free to every backer, either KS or web-site preorder.
Ashes is first expansion, it's being given for free to people who backed 45+
There are more expansions planned, depending on game success.

Ah, good to know, I thought that storywise + level capping game to level 100 means "it´s done":)

I haven't completed expansion, but as far as I know we still haven't saved Ulgrim.

AoM content ends with about the same sort of finality that the base game did. It leaves room for more but could stand on its own.

Grim Dawn is objectively more complex by virtue of using the same dual mastery system that Titan's Quest used. It's also got more complex damage mechanics.

Diablo 3 has a higher art budget and thus objectively higher detail models. It's also easier to get good at.

Which one's better? That's a bad question and you should know that.

Okay, good to know that more expansions awaits us :)
Any thoughts on the new expansion so far?

Anyone know if the new items are mostly high level ones or are there lower level epics too? I haven't been able to find anything online about the new items yet.

It's at least the same quality as the base game so if you like Grim Dawn you'll probably like AoM.

Most of the items are higher level, but there was a lot of reworking done so many of the rare and higher tier items now have additional abilities or have been in other ways changed. If you're only playing at low levels for whatever reason, there might not be a lot of reason to get the expansion since you have to complete the base game to access the expansion areas and quests. However, if you've completed at least one difficulty level of Grim Dawn and want to play more, I'd say get the expansion. The new classes are nice; always good to have some more options for character building.

There is good amount of low level items, Prison, Rovers and Homestead got new relic available at second tier.
There was an item rework, for example warden's mace now additionally gives +2 to raise skeleton and +1 to summon limit.
There are new yellow and green suffixes, so the drop is more diverse.

Thats a bit of a silly question. Whatever text you get back is going to be subjective at best. My 2ps worth:
Grim Dawn: Very nice graphically, easy to get into, lots of felxibility on classes, could do with more "quest" driven pieces. Reasonable variety in baddies etc.
Diablo 3 (only played for couple of hours on console): Dreadful, drm'd excuse to drain users of cash - yes they do have life drain, its called the online marketplace. The only expansion that would make it even slightly less evil than diablo himself is one which offlines the whole and removes all the online parts.

So from my side there is no comparison, there is only Grim Dawn.

Haven't go to the expansion as yet, at broken hills with a spellbreaker. The two new classes were a bit underwhelming though. Looking forward to getting to the new chapters, but will be a while. Also note that this expansion breaks modding (as far as I can tell), so no DAIL as yet.

The expansion items I found are mostly lvl 50+ (and only new components and augments are that low). But I already had my character on ultimate max level, so low level things don't drop for me at all. The expansion items added nice bit of power. Final boss killed me twice, I have to see how base game boss compares now. I expect the fight to be pretty boring - about twice as much DPS and 5k more hp, all resists still maxed.

math9931: DUDE DONT SPOIL
He only said he didn't save him yet (though spoiler warning would still be nice), no need to shout.
And it means he didn't get very far into the expansion at the time.

From the hints I encountered, I expect that the next expansion will focus more on renewed c'thonic threat, not on saving Ulgrim. There is even slight chance we could be cooperating with aetherials.
What I said was reiteration of dialogue with developer:
someone: Is storyline complete?
Zantai (i think): no, we shouldn't leave Ulgrim hanging.

Since I started Ashes conent today I see that it could've been seen as spoiler, but it doesn't. I just assumed since Ulgrim went into chtonic rift and we are dealing with aetherials in our homeworld, there are huge chances we aren't going for him.

Thanks for the input. I was wondering about the lower items as some of them can be tougher to find than the higher level items. I was just wondering if I would have to try finding them with a lower level character.

What's wrong with the new classes? I remember seeing some posts on the Grim Dawn forums that the Necromancer was too standard a class but that was before the expansion was released.
