honglath: It will likely depend on sales. Whether the cost of preparing games for GOG is higher or the profit from doing so will determine how much of an investment will be made in this direction.

I recently read, probably here on GOG, that companies can come out cheaper not having a game for sale than maintaining its presence in stores.
I d say it ll take a few years. They (Sony) make PC ports years after being PS console exclusive- then you get Steam release. After Steram release give it a few years and you get GoG release DRM free. Id say this way they can make even more profits. First you get it on console. Then you buy it for your PC. And after years you even buy it DRM free!

Does it include any forced telemetry? Like with some other Playstation ( publisher ) releases ??
This is a platform that was ONCE proudly boasting about being 100% DRM-free.
GOG com is also catering to EU customers, and in itself is based in EU, thus falls under GDPR laws.
If ANY data collection is taking place during any game execution steps, it should be properly disclosed on the product card...

Nice to see more games coming to GOG from Sony! Here is hoping other publishers will consider moving their games here, as GOG manages to secure more major singeplayer titles, which have no reason not to be here, to begin with.

Almost forgot: BOI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lostwolfe: their [sweet baby inc's] mission is fine and you shouldn't sweat it.
Even setting aside the fact that every game they've been involved in has been narratively ruinous, no honest person should actually believe that after listening to what those at this company have said and done.

VausG: Correct, Angrboða was down-sized and race-bent into a little black girl in Ragnarök, in God of War (2018) she's still properly depicted as a Jötunn.

kotcore: Then why'd they turn Brokkr into a blue-skinned Texan?
Combination of the poisonous spider bite that killed him and/or the following resurrection with only a part of his soul retrieved from Álfheim by his brother. Or something along those lines, if I recall correctly.

Can't say anything in regards to the "Texan" part, I only played with what would be closest to Old Norse, which is the German VO.

Thank you for your hard work to release this, GOG team and Playstation.

Can we dismiss the previous speculation that God of War took long to come here not because of sales targets, but because of the recent Sony layoffs and waiting for them to finish with higher priority restructuring before continuing normal operations like greenlighting this game here?

"Terrify them with what "could" happen if they don't see it your way."

We've reached comical levels of villainy here. If I had zero context, I'd assume that quote came straight from mafia or something :P

I don't see any reason GOG to answer you on that question. Any other person who bought the game can though. When you buy a game you buy a lisence and you agree to the EULA of that game. From there your contract is between Sony and you. If you have a problem with how SONY handles GDPR please ask them. They are the ones who needs to follow these laws when it comes to their game not the store that sells it. Also data collection has nothing to do with DRM. These are 2 completely different things. GOG has no obligations to check games for data tracking.

"narratively ruinous" is a very subjective term. maybe you didn't like it [and maybe the critics didn't either], but that's ok, because some people likely did. i mean, out there in the wild, there's some fairly bad writing on display in all sorts of media and that gets a pass.

but even putting that aside: the notion that consultants come in to help get tone and the like right is perfectly fine. if i were to write - say - a story that centered around highly scientific concepts, you know what i'd do first? i'd consult with scientists who were in that field to make sure that i got it right.

the same is arguably true with regards to the issues that sweet baby inc touch on [and while the "villain" here is sweet baby inc, i can assure you that there are other firms who engage in this sort of work also. they're not alone in this] - if your writing room is staffed with - say - young folks and you're writing a story from the perspective of a much older set of characters, you'd want older people in the room to bounce ideas off of. you'd also want to check their perception of what you wrote, too.

so, from all those angles, i see no harm and no foul here.

i'm sorry you're frustrated that people are helping the world be more inclusive, but only YOU can decide to change your attitude with regards to these ideas.

for what it's worth [and edited in later]: this is my final engagement with this topic.
