You have my wrench. And my pickaxe.

Gnomoria, a gigantic sandbox where you manage the lives of miniature gnomes, is now available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 50% launch discount.

Gnomes are widely considered as greedy, ingenious, often mischievous little devils. But they can sure build a mean city. Or an orc-killing contraption. And these are solid foundations for a thriving community which can eventually turn into a vast kingdom under your steady guidance. All you need to do is point them to the right materials, craft the best items, set cunning traps, and erect sturdy structures that your gnomes will be proud to call home. Every element of the procedurally-generated, sandbox environment is destructible and potentially usable, as long as you have the right gnome for the job.

Put your little citizens to work and help make Gnomoria the perfect place to live, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 50% launch discount will last until April 27, 12:59 PM UTC.

In the press:
"It's easy to get lost in designing the perfect little base for your gnomes" - Kotaku
"Insanely fun and highly addictive village management game" - Destructoid
"The more you put into Gnomoria, the more you get from it" - Pixel Perfect Gaming
Oh, it's finally out of early access. Or it did actually exit it 2 months ago...

"Ugly" doesn't quite cover it, and yet it's the only word that comes to mind... graphics are not everything of course, but management games are not my forte anyway, so I think I'll stay away from this one.
It's good to see this game finally on GOG. I've been following it since its early development, and I'm happy that it's finally released.
fuck yes! this game is excellent. i've been playing the indiegamestand version since the fall of 2012, and i'm happy to pick it up here.
I have Gnomoria on Steam, but it's not my cup of tea.

And the game in itself just seems to be an attempt to make Dwarf Fortress with graphics, but Dwarf Fortress is FAR more detailed and intricate in the core game, mainly because it doesn't have graphics.
The reviews, even for the alpha, seem to be pretty uneven so far. Hopefully some real reviews of the final release will appear soon.
I've also been playing the IGS version, good to see it on GOG.
If you like sandbox builder games it could be fun for you. Its creative and quite relaxing or casual.

i misread that title actually

..ahem
Initially bought this on Desura, one of the few purchases I made there. Too bad it never left development before Desura folded, so I don't have a DRM free version of this anymore. At least I could activate it on Steam.

Haven't played it in a while, but as was mentioned above, it's pretty much Dwarf Fortress with simple graphics and far less intricate.

But having tried and failed multiple times to play Dwarf Fortress, this was more up my alley. I love keyboard shortcuts, but Dwarf Fortress was so complex and involved any newbie would spend over half of their first 10 hours trying to read the Quick Help to find what it was they were trying to do.

Gnomoria makes it a lot easier to see what's going on and at least the alpha/beta weren't quite as hardcore deep. Sometimes you don't want to sit down and cope with something like Europa Universalis, you just want low brow Civ V
I bought and played this long ago, maybe two years ago. It was fun in the beginning but I always found that when you crossed some value threshold the enemy attacks just became overwhelming. Is it still like that?

You know right that that Dwarf Fortress does have graphics? Tilesets like Phoebus or Ironhand (which are included in the Lazy Newb Pack) don't look any worse than this game.

I'm getting rather sick of the "Dwarf Fortress is only ASCII herp derp" meme that's doing the rounds on the internet.

I had Gnomoria once.

Got a shot of penicillin and cleared it right up.

and on a less serious note, think I'll have to pick this game up eventually. All I do is sandbox now.
I've been having it on my Indie Game Stand wishlist for a while now. Great to see it coming to GOG. As much as I like IGS, I will have to buy it here, I guess.

Edit: I haven't played it yet, but of what I know, it feels like the more accessible version of Dwarf Fortress. I have always been intrigued by DF and tried it two times, but the inital wall to get into it just felt too high for me.
