Galactic empires were not built in a day.

Crusade Expansion Pack, the story of humanity's struggles to rebuild and expand after Earth's security was compromised, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com.

This Crusade is humanity's attempt at reestablishing its foothold in the galaxy, using hostile invasions, subterfuge, or silver-tongued diplomacy. Shape your individual citizens' functions, meet new races and use the Builder to make your custom-made civilization from scratch - the new UI and the reworked tech tree will be your allies in this great undertaking.

Watch the trailer.

I'm pleased to see this released as an expansion pack rather than a "standalone expansion".

Here's hoping the changes and additions transform a decent but somewhat lacking base game into a polished experience that rivals GC2.

Also, @Stardock: A sale on the base game might be a good thing right about now to attract new players.

Holy crap, another expansion for a game that owners say are not finished?Good luck with it, maybe is a title to buy when a Gold version comes out.
Base game 29.99 EUR
All 11 DLCs (so far): 71.89 EUR

Total: 101.88 EUR

Is the game really worth it? I don't think so.

Steam has a Gold bundle that includes everything:

http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/274/Galactic_Civilizations_III_Gold/

42% discount. No idea why GOG can't get a similar deal...

Civilization Builder
Create a custom faction complete with leader, ideology, and abilities. You can also customize your own galactic navy and create unique conversation dialogue for your faction to use when it comes into contact with friends and enemies. The civilization builder is integrated into Steam Workshop so that you can upload your creation for other users to enjoy!

How is the builder different from the builder in the base game & does gog Galaxy has a steam workshop connection now?

Quickly, read post. New DLC incoming! I don't see how this is a "Release", surely you could just have an ongoing feed for Stardock releasing bits of their game each time.
Yay, another expansion crap! Thank you so much, Stardock.

The game is ongoing progress. Will buy it when it is finished. Will define finished as something like several years without any release.

Really. Do they expect that people play it again every time a new DLC comes out?

Word. I prefer my games hammered and finished (plus all the bugs fixed). Luckily, since these days, we actually do have a few year's worth of backlog each (especially if you are the kind who likes to take your time to enjoy a game), it will be just right when we are done and looking for a new title.
Really, we have Steam Workshop now on GOG?

That's why the Gods invented Black Holes. :)
As two other commenters above me, I'm wondering about the "detailed civilization builder tool for Steam workshop" being advertised with this.

Does it even work on GOG or did they just not bother to edit the description? If GOG has a version, is it able to load mods from others, including those from Steam if people download & post? Can the Steam version easily post the files elsewhere for non-Steam users?

The parade of DLCs was already a bit much/irritating, but advertising Steam features here makes me inclined to start ignoring Stardock (which is a shame, they used to be a good company).
Tooooo Mannnny DLCssssssss. Not a big fan of the new aliens looks though
