Yeah, weird dlc.

The mod tools are already available with the base game, here apparently it's extra assets, ship, base parts, etc... that can be used with said tools to create custom scenario & co.

It's not really any different from the usual "extra skin" DLCs.

Well, the following sentence:

GOG.com: that gives you the tools to design the ship of your dreams and unleash it upon the galaxy
Gives the impression it isn't available in the base game...

I like the game (or that base game). Not sure if wait till some complete edition upgrade or just adding some of the DLCs to the wishlist till some major GC3 DLC sale.

Depends on the sale I guess. Can somebody tell if with the fragmented DLCs all installed it feels as coherent like GC2 for example or is it weird?
Hm. I wonder if any of the parts are ever used by the auto-gen ships or if there are new "ship styles"? It takes so long to make your own ship designs from scratch [aesthetic ones, rather than functional ones that is], I doubt I'd ever use these otherwise.

EDIT: Hm, there is one new ship style included, presumably using them.
Shipyards and starbases can be edited? Is that new here, or did I just miss it before?

Love the game, but nope, not buying this not even for a quid.
Roll all the DLC into one, i may buy it then, if priced reasonably.
Isn't it already the game with the highest number of DLCs on GOG?

But as much as I prefer complete editions it's always better to be able to decide individually, which extension to buy, and not only being able to buy preconfigured editions at the mercy of the publisher like for Pillars of Eternity.

I don't think I'd want it for free.
Modders have used the ship parts that come with the base game and DLCs to create amazing custom races complete with unique ships.

This DLC provides more parts to modders, which means more awesome mods. But you know what? Models and textures don't create themselves, so it's not free.

People who actually play the game are pleased with this content.

Don't forget that GalCiv2 Ultimate is the culmination of many patches and two standalone expansions. GalCiv3 isn't there yet, but it's shaping up nicely.
