OHMYGODJCABOMB: Meh. Almost the entire Devolver Digital catalog is presented here, including fresh and even upcoming games, but GOG still doesn't want to bring Serious Sam 2, 3 and HD or Marc Ecko's Getting Up here.
It takes two to tango. Maybe it's not GOG who is not interested in a release here?
OHMYGODJCABOMB: Can we please start looking at the real feedback that releases like this get on GOG?
Take a look at Sally Face, for example (wishlist = 6). Highly demanded best-seller on GOG, isn't it?
Really, why do we need games that have hundreds or even thousands of votes on the community wishlist (like the Serious Sam series described above) when we have such gems instead?
You are mistaken if you believe that the numbers of votes on the wishlist have direct influence on which games are released on GOG.
Sure, it's an (
easily abused!) indicator for how many GOG-users (
and of these only the forum-users) would like a game to be released here.
And maybe the numbers on the wishlist can be used to convince certain publishers to release a certain game here.
But just because game X has 25.000 wishlist votes, doesn't mean that game X will definitely see a release here.
And that may have various reasons (
legal limbo/technical problems/Publishers simply not interested in the low number of potential sales on GOG - with which I mean: low in comparison to the Steam numbers)
Tl;dr: high number of wishlist votes != automatic release. Likewise, the fact that games like "Sally Face" or "Florence" only have a wishlist with votes in the single digits, is no reason, that they can't be allowed to be released here.
It's simply so, that in the case of these two games, both - GOG and the Publishers - had an interest to release these games here.
Tl;dr: low number of wishlist votes != automatic rejection. OHMYGODJCABOMB: And I'm tired of rejected games that have a lot more votes on the community wishlist than this one.
Since when should I have less rights to express my opinion than DerBesserwisser?
You may be tired, but that doesn't mean that the rest of us can't also be tired of reading the same old bitching and whining in almost every single release thread.
Btw: DerBesserwisser (
and now I) only expressed his opinion as reaction to your initial rant.
So, I guess, one could ask: "Since when should DerBesserwisser have less rights than you, to express his opinion?"
