A unique casual indie game from Mountains and Annapurna Interactive is now available on GOG.COM. The main protagonist of Florence seems a little stuck in her everyday routine, consisting of work, sleep, and social media activities.

Then one day, she meets a cello player named Krish. Suddenly her life changes completely…

Tarhiel: Easy there. Wolcen should be released today as well :)
I haven't played it, but isn't it just another generic Diablo clone?

nightcraw1er.488: It was already here as Indev, then it was removed. I would hazard a guess that they either wanted drm included or would not put coop via galaxy.
I still have it in my backlog, so I would assume it will be released here as well.

I haven´t played it yet, but based on Steam reviews so far, people are happy with how it turned out.
It took them long time to develop it, one of the games with longest "inDev" status here.
GOG is now more careful with who they allow on board in InDev - usually that game is not far from release.

OHMYGODJCABOMB: Can we finally get something that the GOG community really wants?
Can we finally get users that shut the f*ck up if they get nothing to say at all ?

Does this release take anything away from you ? is there some kind of maximum number of games gog releases per year, so other titles fall of the release cliff ?
No it isn't, so why waste everbodys time and spread negativity when there is no need at all.
Don't like the release policiy of gog, then state your critisisms at the right point in time and the right place, which this is certainly not.
Or just go whining on the steam/epic/whatever forums.
GOG community: where misery is happiness. :P I want to see highly-desired releases too but I also know how hard it can be to bring games. We did get Styx and The Surge 2 just a few weeks ago. I kinda think GOG needs some "lulls" to work on the bigger releases.
I kinda like the artstyle, some other aspects I'm wary of but won't get into here.

David9855: Florence is a heartfelt experience that lasts around 30 minutes.

Take note, long game this aint.
It's been mainly shit on gog this year, now we have reached the point of less then 30 minute flash games that should be free.
I disagree this should automatically be free, however maybe more like $2. Squidlit is about 45 min and costs $2; granted that's a different genre. (now I'll admit I am biased because I'm working on some short games that will probably be 30-45 min and $1 each on itch.io)

When you buy this game and show a receipt in this topic, then we will talk.
Really cheap price to be a release, looks interesting.

AlienMind: Oh you think GOG can eat at a buffet? Tell me which one of those shitburgers you would have released today: https://store.steampowered.com/search/?sort_by=Released_DESC&category1=998&category3=2&os=win&supportedlang=english

?

We have the big video game flood of 1983 again. Nobody knows what to buy again!
Good point! It's a fact that steam gets far more "love" than GOG does, concerning releases. But people easily seem to forget that 95% of steam's monthly releases are just pure crap.

Sometimes I visit piracy sites just to see what are the new releases and I get amazed how so many rubbish passes for "games" nowadays.

If "Hatred" gets unrejected, it should have been released right around the same time as this, for the irony. ;)

His comment doesn't imply he's interested in buying this game.... just that he's tired of other people's bullshit.

NuffCatnip: The developer has a few games on here already, that's probably why this game was released here.
Meh. Almost the entire Devolver Digital catalog is presented here, including fresh and even upcoming games, but GOG still doesn't want to bring Serious Sam 2, 3 and HD or Marc Ecko's Getting Up here.

Fair enough.

avatar
MarkoH01: Can we please stop thinking that everyone on GOG is wanting the same and that every game one person don't want is a game nobody wants?
Can we please start looking at the real feedback that releases like this get on GOG?

Take a look at Sally Face, for example (and especially its wishlist entry). Highly demanded best-seller on GOG, isn't it?

Really, why do we need games that have hundreds or even thousands of votes on the community wishlist (like the Serious Sam series described above) when we have such gems instead?

And I'm tired of rejected games that have a lot more votes on the community wishlist than this one.

Since when should I have less rights to express my opinion than DerBesserwisser?

hmm, the art style seamed a bit simplistic from the screenshots alone
allthough this does not have to be a negative
the price also seamed a little steep for a 30 min game
can Anyone that have played it give some impressions?

game looks like it was made for SJWs. No thanks.

OHMYGODJCABOMB: I have a message for curators:

Four votes for this one:
https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/florence

Four. Votes. It's not even funny anymore.

Can we finally get something that the GOG community really wants? Or at least some explanation why this game is not considered "too niche". Pretty please.
Agree. and whoever is giving you low ratings, has no emotions.

everyone should be jumping for joy that it's not pixel art! ;-)

as for the non-rejection, it may be a multifaceted decision: it's a new game so not everyone has bought it on Steam; good relationship with publisher; dev or pub was willing to implement achievements; relatively cheap price.
