Get ready, because Flint: Treasure of Oblivion is now out on GOG with a -20% launch discount until December 31st, 9 AM UTC!

It’s a tactical RPG set in a pirate world with a strong, original narrative, where you’ll dive into the world of piracy bordering on fantasy and immerse yourself into a rich well-documented, and exciting universe thanks to comic-book-styled narration and tactical turn-based combat.

You can also get Digital Deluxe Edition or Digital Deluxe Upgrade.

Now on GOG!
Quite a bit of swash-bucklering, buccaneering and free-booting as of late (and still upcoming).
Not that I'm complaining, just an observation...
sigh... Pirate game + missing ships/sailing = another FAIL!!!

I was Flint's first mate that voyage. Three days east of Tortola in the Caribbean, Flint knew an island. That's where we buried the treasure. Gold and blood, they were Flint's trademarks. He'd leave both behind him that day.

Looks good. Love me a swashbuckling adventure, and I don't know if I've ever seen an RPG in this setting before. Wishlisted.

Nah, it's obviously not a AAA game, better to focus on doing one thing right than get too ambitious and spoil the game with half baked sailing/naval battles.

Then why make a pirate game? If you're not sailing the ship and having naval battles, then you may as well have a generic fantasy RPG. I as excited to see this because it looks great until I saw there are no ships/sailing in the game.

Because, as we all know, the arguably most famous pirate story ever written, Treasure Island, is just chalk full of naval battles.

And Secret of Monkey Island, also notably lacking in thundering broadsides, could just as well be set in any generic fantasy world.
Bah.
Not rogue-like = no buy.

Nice!
I like Pirates, I like tactics, I like RPGs.
Pretty thorough review on RPGFan, for those interested. Past any other complaints, what it says about saving really made me bounce off: "Because of the game’s save system, it will lock you to a combat with no chance to return to your craft menu. There were several situations where I realized I needed a specific item but could not go back and make this choice. There are save slots for the start of each chapter, but nothing more nuanced."
It looks interesting. Let's wait for the first reviews.

I'm more disgusted they have to push crafting in every RPG these days like it's mandatory while in 90% cases it's nothing but annoying and useless cruft.

That sounds absolutely terrible. I'll keep it in my wishlist until either the save system becomes more robust (save anytime or save before battle). It just seems like an exercise in frustration otherwise.

Yeah, I absolutely hate that. I play these games to go on adventures, not be a cobbler or whatever. If I want new gear I'll buy it or loot.

It's funny, because the review is positive overall, but it actually made me much less interested in the game than I was initially.
