The horror continues.

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin + Reborn, an action-horror FPS continuation, is available now for Windows, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 60% launch discount.

Where the original F.E.A.R. succeeded in offering a terrifying, refined first person game - F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin succeeds even more so. The sequel is more open and varied with less linear environments, new gameplay mechanics like movable cover, and even drivable combat mechs. Still, the basic formula remains unchanged - the slo-mo, refined gunplay, effective AI, and a thick horror atmosphere are back in all their gory. F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin + Reborn which can still impress graphically and gameplay-wise, is arguably the best in the series. A high-quality shooter even today.

This pack includes the Reborn expansion pack with four new levels, a twisted story, and a brand new perspective from behind the mask of replica soldier Foxtrot 813.

Prepare for your second encounter assault in F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin + Reborn, available DRM-free on GOG.com! The launch discount will last for one week, until Tuesday, March 24, at 10:59 AM GMT.
Uuuh... is this thee same than on steam? Steam has both dlc right? Or is it the first?

Anyway, I remember the first running like shit on my main rig that has a 770, so I don't think those games are playable nowadays, that's too bad...

micktiegs_8: Was this Steamworks integrated? If so, I always believed the myth that Steamworks was un-integrate able once it was in. Well, that's what a developer told me once anyway : /
Might depend on the level of integration, might be partly an excuse...

Anyway, how about Alan Wake games? I seem to recall they were Steam-only before arriving to GOG (and I think after that they were available DRM-free somewhere else too)? Not sure if there was a retail version, and whether it had Steam-integration too.

The games are actually very playable, I'm currently playing the first FEAR with max details on Linux with my 760.

EDIT: @timppu: Alan Wake was available on Humble Bundle DRM-Free last year. I've seen a few retail boxes around too, whether they required Steam or not I don't know.

Magmarock: Ever since the loss of Nordic I've been saying that GOG need to expand on thier FPS's. Lichdom both FEARS's and their expansions.

THis along with Hotline Miami 2 something new 'n' Tasty Witcher 3.

GOG!!!!! CAN I PLEASE HAVE MY LIFE BACK?
avatar
JudasIscariot: No.
I'm not going to live long enough to finish all these games.
avatar
Dralel: The general reception among the populace is that F.E.A.R 2 is the better game.
avatar
Alexrd: Even if true (which is not), so what? Is my opinion less valid?
Yes, because 10 peoples' opinions are more valuable than just yours.

Dralel: Yes, because 10 peoples' opinions are more valuable than just yours.
Wrong, that's not how it works.

There is a retail version. It's full of steam.

Wrong. Bruce Lee once said, "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times." If we put that into perspective, it means we should ask 10 people their opinions, as opposed to 1 person's opinion on 10 different subjects. The more people you ask, the better informed you are. That's the law of knowledge.
Hi,
I'm from Germany. Is this 100% uncut? Because the Steam Version isn't.

Dralel: Wrong.
What's wrong is your fallacious argument, as I pointed out above.

What?! That's not what he meant at all. How did you even jump to that conclusion?

Yes, probably so. Wasn't that around the same time, or after, it arrived to GOG? Before that it was Steam-only?

First it was released on Steam and on retail (with Steam requirement). Some months later, it was released on GOG and one year later, there was the Humble Weekly sale.
