I checked some info and seen a video about Fate review.
Could play the first Torchlight since i never played it either..

At first I thought it was Fate - Gates of Dawn with excitement building up....then I remembered that the game was an Amiga game.

Nevertheless, nice release.

Well, looks like you have 2 game series to try out, you're in a single town with a multi-leveled dungeon that you explore and you can have a companion to help as well as an in-town storage box to stash your loot!

This is a very nice surprise! And also a must for fans of the genre, so...complete collection, here i come!

Edit: BTW, apparently the game lacks all the original languages but you can go to \LANG folder and rename your own language .dll to "en-US.dll" (for english UK, German, Spanish, French or Italian)

Edit2: the "only" problem is that game crashes when starting the game, after intros on Win10. On Win7 it works, though :S

That's what happens when you have the creator of Fate (Travis Baldree) go on to create Torchlight. ;) And then went on to create Rebel Galaxy and Rebel Galaxy Outlaw? Yeah, weird trajectory.

Yeah, it is the same person, haha. You know, there are always ups and downs in real life :)

I quite enjoyed FATE when I played it...5-10 years ago? I played it through on one character and messed around on a few others. Traitor Soul has lived on my WL ever since, but it almost never goes on sale, so perhaps this is the moment!

I've never seen a "builds guide" for this series if your question is whether certain builds are more optimal than others, but there is a lot of flex in how you level up your attributes and skill points. Charm magic + Spear? Go for it! Does it suck? IDK.

My recollection is that tanky pet builds were much easier than other things I tried, but that's as much as I recall.

And yeah, that is a weird trajectory indeed! I have the 1st Rebel Galaxy, yet I read mixed reviews of the second one, I may get it when the discount is deep enough...

EDIT: A warning for those that have Fate, remember to backup your saves if you ever uninstall the game as your save files will be deleted along with the uninstallation of the game!
