Ranayna: Why not? Why are mass murderer simulators (a.k.a virtually every FPS game) ok, but rape games not?
If you have missed it (even though you used the word yourself), the keyword here is "simulator". It's not real.
DarkBattler: I am sorry to chime in, but for me, this argument never works, because in the vast majority of FPS games, people are shooting at you, and you have to shoot them back in order to stay alive. If they are stupid enough to keep going after you, after you killed ten thousands of their friends, they really deserve to die. Rape, on the other hand, is never rightfully provoked.
That being said, I have nothing against Evenicle, only the argument I responded to. I do not intend to play this game, but if you want to do it, you do not have to justify it.
Then do me a favor. Don't let me catch you walking around with any sharp or blunt object that could be used as a murder weapon. Why? You most likely own movies where cold blooded killers like Jason and Michael Myers kill people in cold blood. For the beginning of those films, ain't nobody fighting back. A man has his head on today, but it's on the ground tomorrow. If you have engaged in any content where cold blooded killers just murder people, then you are just as much in the same boat you're putting me, with your minority report tactics, sir.
I've played a lot of these, so by your logic I'm the worst rapist in the whole world. Yet, I've never done anything remotely like that. I have female friends who are rape victims. You know how they look at this stuff? As it not being real. The only people who get upset about this stuff are beta male white knights and land whales who don't know the first thing about hygiene and cry because they're oppressed.
"OMG, the poor anime girl!"
Meanwhile, these are the same people who will declare, "Where are her organs?" and "this cartoon character looks underage!" These people would have never survived the nineties. Can we go back to the days when everything was the devil? Please?
Reinmar: To be honest, this looks very creepy, as do many weirdly aggressive defensive posts in this thread. GOG is of course free to put whatever on the store and attract whatever clientele they want, but raising eyebrows at this stuff is not, in fact, an act of some political extremism.
"looks creepy."
Yes, it is political extremism. Your politics of what you define as morally right. Suddenly, you've become God. You're goddamned right we're gonna defend this stuff and if you think that this game looks creepy, then maybe you're the one who shouldn't be playing it the most. After all, you're the one virtue signaling.
