Breja: Sometimes I feel like not making fun of communists is the only requirement GOG's curation cares about anymore.
Lol. Oh, behave! I'm sure it's not that bad of a JRPG, certainly not bottom of the barrel even as far as GOG content is concerned.

That being said, I've never liked JRPGs anyway, lewd or unlewd, so I'm gonna head over to my space demon piratesses of Subverse :P. "Whatever floats your ship on the star-currents of space", isn't that what they say?

Buy whatever you like! Or don't :P.

Ranayna: I just did a scroll through GoGs Terms of Service. They include this nugget:

(i) We ask you to follow any applicable geographic or regional, language or location-based restrictions, requirements or rules regarding GOG.

So using a VPN to explicitly bypass a regional block is indeed against GoGs Terms of Service. And while i will not buy another game on GoG for the forseeable future, i also to not want to get my account banned.
This is toothless. The actual restriction is when you check out and have to confirm you're in the country the site thinks you're in. If you lie on that form, you're in the wrong whether you use a VPN or not.

Swedrami: Unless you tell GoG that it was indeed you who purchased geo-blocked game XYZ at this particular time, through this particular IP address, they virtually can't trace that purchase made on GoG using a VPN back to you.

....

It's either the hoops or waiting for Godot.
avatar
Ranayna: Of course they can trace that back to me.
They cannot.
If that were the case, I and everybody else who's been using a perfectly legal means like a VPN to buy on GoG would have been banned years ago already.

So now GOG is putting up straight up rape simulators? Can't get some awesome old school style games, but rape simulators are ok. Apparently GOG is ready to go fuck themselves.

Of course they can. They are not doing anything about it, but they of course can see if i buy a game via VPN, or rather that I am suddenly in less than a minute in another country.

And even if not, my account is for sure flagged as a german. My post adress is german, my emailaddress is a .de, my forum account is set to show that i am from Germany. So if one of the banned games suddenly appears on my account, where else would it come from?

They just do not do anything about getting a game over VPN.
Interestingly enough, that might actually put the Terms of Service as a whole in legal jeopardy. If GoG does not care about parts of the agreement, why should I?
Additionally, if whoever got the block enforced learns about this loophole, GoG might even be required to remove the affected game from accounts. And may get into additional trouble why they did not enforce their own Terms of Service.

So by that logic, any game in which you kill a lot of enemies is a murder simulator? You can get fucked, buddy.

And as someone who had played more of these than probably anyone in this whole damn forum, I will tell you that 90% of the non-consensual sex is actually consensual. People do not want non-consensual sex. But when I played How To Live A Healthy Hentai Lifestyle last night for my channel, I noticed that the main character asks the older woman what she wants him to do and then she presents him with a task where he has to train a newbie and they both have sex with him. She then asks "how does it fell to have nonconsensual with two women?"

What do you mean, "non consensual?" Everyone in the entire skit consented beforehand. No one was thrown on the ground and brutally taken advantage of, nor were they drugged.

That being said, does this actually happen in some games? Yes. It can get very rough. I've played the worst of the worst. I don't think that's where Evenicle is going though. This is not Euphoria or Maggot Baits territory. We're not talking about Closed Game where several of the characters get taken advantage of by slime monsters and gimps, which one is not only extremely upset about, but she also goes through actual trauma responses. First time I have ever seen a game going into that.

So yes, it can indeed get rough. Know what you're getting into and always read the content descriptors on VNDB.org.

Why not? Why are mass murderer simulators (a.k.a virtually every FPS game) ok, but rape games not?

If you have missed it (even though you used the word yourself), the keyword here is "simulator". It's not real.

Okay, I've done the dirty work for you.

https://vndb.org/v16640

Just scroll down a bit, click on "sexual content" and yes, you will find some things. Staggering? Perhaps. But this is nothing. Once again, just know what you are getting into and if you are a survivor of sexual abuse and you feel that this game may trigger the trauma from that abuse, DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME.

No, thanks!!! Don't need Arunaru crappy translated game. Let alone a game from a woke publisher that attacks its fans when they are called out for supporting their man-hating translator that injected their ideology into their game.

Stop your crying, you little snowflake. If you want to stop rape, start with political action against your liberal nut jobs, who now have rape and murder skyrocketing with their political pandering bullshit.

Neat that this came here. Is this because of Sseth?

Apparently you're slow minded!! But then again, when you're virtue-signaling, you love to pretend you made a difference it shows your slow state of mind.

A mix of that and even before said review, this is one of the better selling 18+/eroge games on Steam before Steam started being wishy washy about that type of content. Probably a long shot, but I'd be all for GOG taking advantage of that part of the market left open if they're being serious and it's not just a one time thing.
