The wait is no more. Paradox Development Studio’s fourth installment of the award-winning Europa Universalis series is now available on GOG! And during our Black Friday sale you can get it with an -80% discount!

Europa Universalis IV is an absolute iconic classic in a historic, grand strategy simulator genre. It gives you control of a nation through four dramatic centuries where you rule your land and dominate the world with unparalleled freedom, depth and historical accuracy. Write a new history of the world and build an empire for the ages.

But of course we are not stopping on just the base game. 60 of Europa Universalis IV DLCs are also now available on GOG with discounts up to -50%! You can expand this incredible title with expansion packs, immersion and music packs, new units, additional content and more!

We are fully aware that 60 is a lot - but worry not! If you’d like to have the ultimate Europa experience, our GOG GALAXY client allows for incredibly easy management of any extra content to our titles including DLCs.

Just head over to our website and download GOG GALAXY. When within the client, all available DLCs can be found on the right side of the game’s card. After purchasing them, just go to your “Owned games” and select the game which you bought the DLCs for. All of them can be then found in the “Extras” tab on your owned game page.

You don’t need to do anything more. When installing a game, all available DLCs from your account will be downloaded by default. However if you’d like to have some of them not installed with the game, just click the configuration button (right of the “Install”), go to “Manage installation” then “Configure…” and then “DLC” tab. There, just hand select installments you’d like to automatically download with the base game.

And that’s just one of the many cool features GOG GALAXY offers! We are constantly improving our client and highly recommend it for the best store, library and gaming experience.

But back to Europa! You’ve waited long enough and the quest for world domination awaits to be fulfilled. From grand voyages of discovery to religious wars to revolutionary governments, the entire history of the early modern world waits for you to rewrite it. Make use of our -80% deal on Europa Universalis IV and prepare to spend countless hours in it.

Sternitzky: Bollocks to that! The simplest solution would be a GOG launch edition with everything included; how high the price may be, the most important thing is the choice! Don't let me plow through the list, I'm not on the hunt for America's next top hooker! Hence with it!

BitMaster_1980: Price-wise this might be a bit too hard on a lot of people. But the relevant gameplay stuff (removing ebooks and separate soundtracks and whatnot) needs to be available with less fiddling. I don't have a good overview of how expensive that would be once you remove duplicates of incestious DLC but this really needs something on the lines of:
I remember I got once a newsletter exclusive Paradox bundle offer (90% off), which wasn't searchable on GOG's store site, and yes, on first sight I was reluctant to buy a bundle with items I already owned, but I knew the discount was so high, that I wouldn't get the missing items alone with any normal site offer, so I bought it nevertheless. Thinking about that, there is a realistic chance there may be coming any crazy EU4 bundle. I strongly advise on subscribing the GOG newsletter. It's one of the few really useful emails about game offers.

I don't know how much the total undiscounted sum (excluding ebooks and double positions) would be, but looking at greater Steam bundles I can say, they give normally a saving discount on their own, and with sales these discounts even grow bigger! This was the case, when Paradox released a complete CK2 DLC bundle some time before CK3's launch. And I instantly bought it, when it was on sale.

If this is possible on Steam for CK2, why in bloody hell this isn't possibly here with EU4 on GOG? Fuck, they did it with EU3 on GOG! Where is the complete DLC bundle for EU4? Why for the sake of convenience and politeness isn't this possible?

Let people buy the DLCs one by one, if they want. But give them a different choice, when they're tired of these floods.

.Keys: 60 DLCs...?

60 DLCs.

What? Am I reading this right? What happened to Paradox? Last game I played from them was Victoria 2 and Mount & Blade (original) when they still worked with Tale Worlds.

How 60 DLCs in their games became a thing? That's scary. Sorry to say.
Paradox has been like this for years now. Crusader Kings II has over 60 DLC for it. i remember the good old days when PC gamers would crap on consoles for having DLC . Man have things change.

blotunga: No thanks to this DLC mess, I'll buy it when Paradox stops releasing new DLCs.
Latest DLC was released on Sep 13, 2022 for 14.99 on steam. :I

Would be cool if GOG bundled this game with all the DLCs for a decent price...

We hear you - we've just added a couple of guides with our recommendations regarding the DLCs to the promo page. Check them out!

A bit more information is certainly appreciated but in my opinion it really does not solve the core issue. It's just too many sometimes extremely tiny DLCs which you have to download, archive and apply every update. And if that wasn't important to me, why would I buy on GOG?

do you remember "good old times" when game would just come out and never get updated
no patches provided
no extra features added
for 10 years

oh wait, you can do it, just buy base game >_>
lol 60 dlc's and sold 1 by 1, the base game with much higher discount and all the rest with a maximum 50% discount, no matter that the game has already 9 years and also some of those big dlc's, max is 50%. Well, the same they do with any game, no matter how old is it.

So no collection, no final or definitve edition pack. Messy and milking plan to squeeze as much as you can, again.

Well not from me, Paradox, i had enough of your practices.
I have EU4 complete on Steam, the base game and all DLCs.
(Ofc i did only buy the stuff when it was on sale...)

Did not hink it would ever release on GOG but congrats for getting it done!

Sadly i can not afford to buy it again even at a discount...its to much to pay twice in these difficult times.

Just to reiterate because that gets mixed up by a lot of other people: I can live with the fact that this is going to be expensive. The game got 10 years of constant work and since I'm not aware of a more conventionally developed game with the depth accumulated over that time, I have to consider it at least.

This is by no means a certain sell for me since I already track Stellaris, but the sheer amount of work involved in just aiming for a complete gameplay experience at some point in the future is just offputting. There was even talk of some of the bigger DLCs containing some of the tiny ones implicitly, so this is not a question of a damn lot of installers but also fiddling out which ones are already covered by something else. Even if I'm willing to pay for the full experience, I would be very annoyed to doublepay because of a completely entangled DLC model.
Would have been nice if there is something like a DLC bundle, so I don't have to click through them. But this is definitely a welcoming development.
This is where GOG Connect could still be handy, because even if I wanted to come back to EU4 and buy more DLCs, I ain't starting over on GOG. Same will go for CK2, HOI4 etc, when and if they show up here.

GOG Connect is dead. Even if it wasn't, GOG Connect wasn't able to transfer DLCs, so it wouldn't be much of a help for those Paradox releases.
I've just noticed (or failed to see) that there is no actual stated end date for the 80% release discount on EU4... Or am I just being blind, stupid or unobservant (delete as applicable...) ?.

The DLC page (this one) mentions that 5 days and 11 hours are still remaining till the deals end.

Great!, thank you very much for helping a blind, stupid, and very unobservant person, it's very much appreciated. :)
