Holding out for a hero. Aaaaany minute now...

Eric the Unready is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.
Morgana had the perfect plan: whisk her stepdaughter away before she could replace her dad on the throne, then assign the noble quest of finding her to the most notoriously incompetent knight in the entire kingdom. But against all odds and oddities, Eric the Unready might, in fact, manage to fumble and puzzle-solve his way towards a surprising outcome. Or at least some really good laughs, the ones only text adventures of yore knew how to provide.

For a minute I thought we got a sequel to Lester the Unlikely.

Looking through Legend Entertainment's work would really like the chance to play Mission Critical with Michael Dorn.
If you want more of their games on GOG please vote them up on the community wishlist. Apparently GOG looks at this for releasing their back catalog of games.

This is my first Legend game and I'm really happy that I am enjoying it a lot. Thank you GOG for finally making this game available. Curse of Monkey Island last month and now a Legend game this month. What's up for next month Discworld or Blade Runner?

There's a lot of classic adventure games I didn't get a chance to play when I was younger and I never got to play any of the Legend games. I'm actually enjoying the the text interface a lot. I also like that you can't get stuck and that useless items get removed after every day.

So far this game has been pretty easy. For people who play text adventures / interactive fiction, what other games do you recommend playing that are forgiving like this one?

xemmy: These games were abandonware for decades.
Abandonware means "you download this ilegally because this is a shitty world where the owners of the game are missing and you cannot get it anywhere else". But in Home of the Underdogs and similar it was received with joy whenever a game was sold again. Not the opposite.

Really, I am tired of people talking about "abandonware" as a legal term. It just means that you feel morally comfortable to download it.

Most of the other Legend games, but among them all, Gateway. Gateway is fantastic.

Thanks, I downloaded the AGS remake of Gateway and I enjoyed the book back when I read it so I think I will check it our next.
YES!! These Legend games are the games that made me a gamer! From here, I discovered Sierra and LucasArts and I fell in love with Adventure gaming for life. Please keep these classics coming!!

Sorry, but I'm about to barf this link all over the most recent news posts because I think this topic deserves more visibility. Given my experiences with GOG during the past year users will be informed after the fact and in a footnote. So go get yourself informed:

Introducing new privacy settings (official "announcement")

You might also want to check your new privacy settings for the upcoming update. Because several users (including myself) had been set to default values that weren't intended - even by GOG.
