Knowledge can be the ultimate weapon.

Elven Legacy, a turn-based tactical battleground of warring fantasy races, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 66% launch discount.

In the world of Fantasy Wars, battles are often fought not only to reveal ancients secrets but to keep them from coming out. When a human mage threatens to unearth pieces of powerful, forbidden knowledge, the elder race gets mobilized to protect their Elven Legacy from falling into the wrong hands, and all factions get tangled in full-scale war.

The humans pushed the orcs out of their lands long ago but the greenskins have been preparing to take them back. Taking advantage of the recent turmoil they will now try and challenge the humans' supremacy and you can choose between the orcs and the elves in a highly-tactical campaign with multiple endings, based on your choices. Plan your moves carefully in the hexagonal-based maps when doing battle either against the A.I. or your friends and lead your race to victory, reaping the just rewards that will help you grow stronger and better overcome the challenges ahead. The Elven Legacy Collection also includes the Ranger, Siege, and Magic DLCs, which continue the story of the saga while also bringing many new campaign missions, maps, heroes, spells, and artifacts.

Get involved in tactical fantasy warfare instigated by dark forces that seek to exploit the Elven Legacy, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 66% launch discount will last until March 10, 1:59 PM GMT.
Not one of my *must have* games.
Anyway bought.
I'll probably never play it ;-)

PaterAlf: For that price I can't think of any reason not to buy the game right away.
The graphics, the atmosphere, the total lack of any imagination whatsoever in it's fantasy setting, the horrible World of Warcraft style it is trying to pull off...... the reasons are many.

These games are a great example of what is wrong with many fantasy strategy and RPG games these days, but few pull it off as badly as these.

Fantasy General is a much better option than this.

No Sargon, people complaining about irrelevant stuff like graphics and atmosphere in hexfield games are the reason we are not getting more of them.
These remakes are a big improvement over Fantasy General in the relevant aspects.
nice

vicklemos: ... and lemme know if it runs ok under intel hd chips! :)
Please?! Pretty please?!

rampancy: The game runs really well on my MacBook Air with WINE 1.9.4-staging (Core i5, Intel HD 5000 Graphics), and it looks pretty good with all of the graphics cranked up. I do get an errror message because the game thinks I have only 128 MB of VRAM, but that's more due to a bug in WINE than anything else.

So yeah, I'm pretty confident it'll work with your computer.
Thanks, bro! ;)
And bought before the promo ends.

I've been playing Fantasy Wars a little this week and I liked what I discovered.

JudasIscariot: Fixed :)

HypersomniacLive: Screenshot #3 is also duplicated as screenshot #7.
I guess you must be on his ignore list. ;P

Edit: and suddenly it was fixed...

Have you played Fantasy Wars?

Because I have played both Fantasy General and Fantasy Wars and IMO the latter is better in every single gameplay aspect. It is significantly more sophisticated than Fantasy General, tactics wise. So much so, that at some point I quit Fantasy General because it was so repetitive in comparison.

Graphics might be important to you, but for me what's important is the gameplay, and I find Fantasy Wars infinitely superior in that respect. Still, YMMV.
