Knowledge can be the ultimate weapon.

Elven Legacy, a turn-based tactical battleground of warring fantasy races, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 66% launch discount.

In the world of Fantasy Wars, battles are often fought not only to reveal ancients secrets but to keep them from coming out. When a human mage threatens to unearth pieces of powerful, forbidden knowledge, the elder race gets mobilized to protect their Elven Legacy from falling into the wrong hands, and all factions get tangled in full-scale war.

The humans pushed the orcs out of their lands long ago but the greenskins have been preparing to take them back. Taking advantage of the recent turmoil they will now try and challenge the humans' supremacy and you can choose between the orcs and the elves in a highly-tactical campaign with multiple endings, based on your choices. Plan your moves carefully in the hexagonal-based maps when doing battle either against the A.I. or your friends and lead your race to victory, reaping the just rewards that will help you grow stronger and better overcome the challenges ahead. The Elven Legacy Collection also includes the Ranger, Siege, and Magic DLCs, which continue the story of the saga while also bringing many new campaign missions, maps, heroes, spells, and artifacts.

Get involved in tactical fantasy warfare instigated by dark forces that seek to exploit the Elven Legacy, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 66% launch discount will last until March 10, 1:59 PM GMT.
This game looks pretty good, but I'll probably have to pass for now. But, who knows.

Looger23: does this game have any kind of time/turn limits?

Karahandras: turn limits
Can the turn limits be disabled? Or can a custom difficulty setting be created?
I remember this game. Its basically has Blackguards tactical battles system and a simple turn based strategy map where you move your army between turns. Certainly interesting. Will keep an eye on it.
There's no interface in any of the images. What on earth is this game? :/

It's a turn-based hexagon game that's similar to Fantasy Wars.
Cool. I've been interested in this for a while. Put off getting in in hopes it would show up here. Took its time, but it made it. I will definitely pick it up down the road.

timppu: Damn it. With that low launch sale price, I have very hard time convincing myself not to buy a game if it looks even remotely interesting (as these games certainly do). Yeah, I'll probably buy this collection tomorrow...
... and lemme know if it runs ok under intel hd chips! :)
Please?! Pretty please?!
Are we sure this is DRM free?

The company's site is filled with references to activation codes that require internet access either on the same PC or to jump a few hoops with another PC with internet access on it.
Fantasy Wars is a great TBS game. We need more like these! Instabuy.

IronArcturus: Can the turn limits be disabled? Or can a custom difficulty setting be created?
There is a difficulty setting per mission (Easy, Normal, Hard).

Additionally, there are three turn limits (e.g. 10, 15, 20) for receiving a Gold/Silver/Bronze rating (which sometimes translates to bonuses (e.g. artifact) -- the better the rating the better the bonus, but sometimes it's worth it to go for a Silver or Bronze in order to explore more or the map and find some secrets in it).

Anyhow, IMHO, finishing the mission within the third turn limit is very easy and should not worry you too much. It's nothing like a real time limit. You should be able to find absolutely everything in the mission within the time limit if you want to.

JudasIscariot: Uhhhmmm Eradicator has been here for over a week now :P

HunchBluntley: I think he was talking about the sub-sub-sub-genre of "Eradicator-likes". :P
That too. I want Eradicator 2: Totally Rad to show up at some point.

Are you talking about this page? Seems pretty dated to me and more than likely referring to the times they were using Starforce. 1C has released quite a few games DRM-Free here and on other stores.

Noteworthy, since Aspyr published 1C titles in the US all drm-free bacxk in the day.
Btw wish 4x4 Hummer was in here... was once available on Gamersgate and others, so the licence shouldn't be that tough. And I'd be more and more happy to see more racing games in here ;P
Not complaining, though.

That is the link, yes. Okay, if we're sure it's DRM free, than I'll certainly give it a look. :)

Unfortunately, I doubt 1C would be particularly willing. They would either need to renew a license with General Motors (probably unprofitable) or hire a group of developers to remove the General Motors brand from the 4x4.

It's sad, but very true. Once racing games get removed from digital stores because of licensing, they are not coming back (like Colin McRae Rally 2005, Dirt 1+2 and Toca Race Driver 3).
