Knowledge can be the ultimate weapon.

Elven Legacy, a turn-based tactical battleground of warring fantasy races, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 66% launch discount.

In the world of Fantasy Wars, battles are often fought not only to reveal ancients secrets but to keep them from coming out. When a human mage threatens to unearth pieces of powerful, forbidden knowledge, the elder race gets mobilized to protect their Elven Legacy from falling into the wrong hands, and all factions get tangled in full-scale war.

The humans pushed the orcs out of their lands long ago but the greenskins have been preparing to take them back. Taking advantage of the recent turmoil they will now try and challenge the humans' supremacy and you can choose between the orcs and the elves in a highly-tactical campaign with multiple endings, based on your choices. Plan your moves carefully in the hexagonal-based maps when doing battle either against the A.I. or your friends and lead your race to victory, reaping the just rewards that will help you grow stronger and better overcome the challenges ahead. The Elven Legacy Collection also includes the Ranger, Siege, and Magic DLCs, which continue the story of the saga while also bringing many new campaign missions, maps, heroes, spells, and artifacts.

Get involved in tactical fantasy warfare instigated by dark forces that seek to exploit the Elven Legacy, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 66% launch discount will last until March 10, 1:59 PM GMT.
Great discount and It looks fantastic but I've yet to try Fantasy Wars even though I got it about 2.5 years ago. So I think I'll play FW and come back to buy ELC later this week (or today) if I like it. I probably will.
Nice!!!!!
An irresistible price. I bought it immediately. It's a good time to be a strategy enthusiast. ٩(^ᴗ^)۶

jamotide: There are 4 campaigns in this and 3 in Fantasy wars, and a couple of scenarios. The campaigns are very motivating because the heroes and units get XP and perks, and you find items. It does have a window mode.
Thanks for the info!
Judas, I just noticed this picture is in the game page twice.

Can GOG add Russian language please? Base game (Fantasy Wars) already got Russian version, and it was developed in Russia after all.

There seems to be a glitch in the game engine, there's a boat floating in the air in that picture.

So I really like Fantasy Wars and the sequel Elven Legacy. It's solid hex-based war strategy with persistent units that accumulate XP/items and carry across to the next mission, kind of like a turn-based Shadow of the Horned Rat or Dark Omen. In fact that's the one major thing bothering me - that it isn't based on Warhammer fantasy or another franchise with a rich lore. The world is about as generic as possible. If you can get past that, its quite a treat.

The-Business: Can the combat animations be turned off? (E.g. playing Panzer General 1 with combat animations would have been a major annoyance for me).
Yep, can switch between them or have them change depending on the camera's zoom.
It looks great & you really can't go wrong with the price. Insta-buy! :)
I'm really glad it's finally here, but is this week only "Been on Steam and now finally GOG catches up!" Or will there be new stuff?

They can't be turned off,but you can set them to 8x speed, also one mouseclick aborts all animations. But at 8x speed you'd have to be really fast with the click to save a split second
I use 4x speed and double click if I am really impatient.

About bloody time this showed up here. I've owned this for a long while, but I'll probably nab it just to have it on my GOG shelf. Which means I may finally actually get around to playing it...

jamotide: Anyone who liked Panzer General, Fantasy General and so on will like this. I must have played through it like 10 times by now.
I absolutely loved Fantasy Wars, yet did not like Fantasy General at all (the only game I quit in 2015), so the opposite might not be true.

Instabought (my first instapurchase since October (Krynn)).

Looks very nice, and the launch discounted price is sweet.
