This is maybe the first game since Crysis 3 where I loaded it up, saw the performance I could get, then said never mind I'll wait for an upgrade. Even on low settings my 2070 can't get a solid 60fps at 1440p, which seems crazy to me? I played Cyberpunk just fine for crying out loud.

Anyway... love PB games, so looking forward to playing this on my 4070 or whatever.

greyhat: Oh, I did not realize there would be a difference. I thought all the installers would be the same and language localization was for the web pages was on GOGs end.
From v 1.01 the language localization is probably in an installer. Elex 1 still had its own installer for each language. I don't understand why this hasn't already been done for 1.00 and 1.00b.

But no matter, now there is an installer for ALL languages.

Does this game have DLSS Support?
If "yes" - do you have it turned on?

Also, I expect more games to be basically really supporting the newest cards, especially since the 3xxx cards are here and new consoles are here (to drive system requirements up); and the 4xxx cards are probably coming soon.

EDIT - It seems like all the dev's and w/ their big seamless open-world things and all kinds of systems in the game (AI, NPC's on schedules, RPG stuff, other elements, etc) supported keep on requiring and/or demanding rocket-ships for PC's to run these well. You would think more modular design would make more sense like the old days - like say breaking up big maps into pieces and sections - would be done. Especially w/ SSD's here, as it would likely load all this stuff fast anyways, pretty much keeping load-times to a minimum and all.

It doesn't, I would have tried it. I did some googling and apparently shadows are the killer. Even on low they are crazy demanding, but if you use ini edits to turn them off entirely performance soars (but I'm not willing to do that). There's reports online of people with 3080s getting 30fps in big cities believe it or not.

Anyway, Eurojank is what it is and I don't expect the situation to improve, but I don't think I NEED to play it today either, so I'll see if I can brute force it down the road.

Interesting.

Are they forcing Global Illumination, RT, or something?

From what I read it's more that they just went crazy in quantity, giving everything and anything a dynamic shadow. I'm just going off random internet posts though, all I can say is even with shadows on low my framerates sucked, and the "mod" that improves performance does so by turning off shadows.

Given this game's performance problems and that it likely has typical PB-style AI and schedules and a super huge open-world - would be nice if they did give players an option to scale down; even w/ say some static shadowing option.

Dynamic shadows on everything, that's almost on some RT type of insanity right there.

It may be your CPU. The game isn't THAT demanding on GPUs.

I've got a Ryzen 3600x. I do want to upgrade to an 8 core soon, but either way PB's optimization ain't that great.

It is not great, it's absolutely awful at times! XD
Shadows have been a problem with PB games since Gothic 3. So, basically, since they started using dynamic ones. ELEX 2 is not an exception, unfortunately... I completed it the other day, it's a great game but performance really suffers in settlements. I'm playing on an old GTX 1070ti, btw.

Yah, but at least with Elex I could get a solid 60fps. That's all I ask lol. Anyway no big deal to wait a while, I've got literally 100 RPGs on my to-play list.
Hi!
During the installation of version 1.03, several error messages are displayed and the game does not start. Version 1.01 works well.
What could be the problem?

ELEX II on Mac: Tech FAQ
Slated for release sometime this month.
Too bad the game still runs horrendous and the installer is still bloated (DX 11 and 12 version in the same package).
I won't bother with that company in the future.
